^ that is good to see, well done yogi keep it up

I've come to bed extra early tonight- I've picked up another sore throat type bug! That's the 3rd in about 2 months. I was fine this morning and started to feel funky before lunch, and by tea time I just wanted to come lay down. I've had a nice hot bath & drank some honey/lemon and come to bed, hopefully it won't last long.

I hope you've all had a good afternoon

If the weather predictions are correct, besides the current storm, there's more heavy rain Thursday night, and then what may the worst storm yet on Friday night/Saturday. The Gulf Stream is in a locked position which means that the storms will keep on hitting the South and South West every couple of days until it becomes unlocked.

Good morning everyone, it's been dreadful weather here.  Very high winds and downpours all night long.  It really only was a matter of time before that happened at Dawlish, you can see why

Summer I hope you can bounce back quickly, it certainly does sound as if your immune system is a little compromised.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Weather is dry and not windy, but bad weather is forecast for later.

Summer, I hope you start to feel better as the day goes on.

Moonie, good to see you popped in last night.

Squiggle, I can't believe how close that railway line is to the sea!

El, I hope that weather forecast isn't correct! Surely we must be due some dry weather soon?

Have a good day everyone.

Please don't read on if you are eating

My only functioning loo was blocked up at 12-30 I rang the council because mine is a council house. Top them. They said "we will put it down a 'priority' but it could take up to 24 hours." I said "what are we supposed to do until they get here?" They said "all we can do is put it down as a priority"

Anyway, after an hour or so the bowl emptied and it was flushed and is ok at present *fingers crossed*

What a relief

Rang the council back to cancel the call out and they thanked me

I think they have kept repairing the line because it is so scenic, but most local people are now saying they have to take the line further inland.  It must be a beautiful train ride but not very practical sadly.

I think the weather forecast is accurate, every few days we get another dose.

I think that company must be getting desperate to sign new people up EL, as you say I can't believe you would have got any new customers that way.

What on earth were you supposed to do for 24 hours - ask your neighbours if you could use their loo?!

Just as well it unblocked itself, Moonie.

I wonder if it had been trying to catch the bus back to Bristol Zoo.

How do you look for a massive crocodile?  I suppose very carefully is the answer

I'm sure it must be a lovely train ride in the summer but, as you say, hardly practical for the rest of the year.

Moonie, I hope that your loo problem is over

Squiggle, the railway line at Dawlish is scenic but I'm surprised that it was built that close to the sea.

I'm not surprised to hear that the people who live on the Somerset Levels are being asked to evacuate the area as it is clear that the area is not habitable at this time wiith the flooding getting worse.

Poor dawlish, I hope they get funding to divert the line. I hope no one was injured too.

I had quite a good morning, feeling weak but perky enough I made a huge amount of broth! Plenty to freeze, and mr summer enjoyed his tea
This afternoon I've felt worse so I just laid down and caught up with my mum on the phone

Moonie, I'm glad your blockage has cleared, I hope the council will check the drains regularly just for th sake of it

I'll go in yogi, I could take tomorrow off if I really had to but the lass I work with actually once got out of bed when recovering from an operation and came in voluntarily! She heard through the grapevine that I'd been left in the lurch and was really busy. I'll always go in for her
I'm usually okay once I'm up & about and got some medication in me but I can nap at lunch if I need to stupid bugs going round!

How was your day?
I'm just running a bath
