Why doesn't Baz like giraffes?

I don't know why Many many years ago when we went to the zoo at Bristol, one of the giraffes bent down and licked my brother's face

I bet it had a big tongue.

Baz does like giraffes, she just doesn't doesn't approve when we let them loose in her house.

I'm home, and I beat the rush hour traffic so was home in time to start our walk in the last of the daylight! It'll only get better from now on

It's much better walking in daylight. Well done on beating the rush hour traffic.

We're cooking spag Bol, one of my favourites. I just wish I could eat it without splashing it over my face

It's hard to eat spag bol without making a mess. I love pasta dishes.

I had a bowl of chicken soup at lunchtime and a poached egg for dinner. I'll stick to boring simple, bland food for a couple of days, to be on the safe side.

Good morning everyone. Weather is overcast, atm.

Thanks El and Summer. I'll stick to bland food today, then I should be able to move on to tastier food.

Summer, I hope you managed to get an early night and slept well.

Back at physio this afternoon. I don't think the exercises have made a difference yet, but it's early days.

Have a good day, everyone.

Summer, sadly the weather in the south of the country will remain wet for at least the next 2 weeks - on average about 2 inches of rain a week. By then we will have had about a third of the total rain which fell during the whole of 2013 (admittedly 2013 was a bit drier than average) but it gives you some idea as to the seriousness of those communities most affected. Tomorrow's rain won't be helpful but there is a fear that the storm which may be arriving Friday night/Saturday may be a lot worse.

Thanks my colleague has written me her recipe and I can call her if I get stuck. The green grocer had to point me in the right direction because I don't know the difference between parsnip/turnip- I never cook them!

That reminded me of a young lad on a supermarket checkout, who had to ask me what the parsnips in my shopping were, so he could find the price per kilo on his list.

I like a nice broth - great to have hearty soup in this weather.

Thanks Summer and Squiggle, I think the physio might be pleased with one improvement I discovered half an hour ago. I was able to get up from my knees from the floor, without hanging onto anything. My hip might not feel any better but my muscle strength must be improving.

It has started raining again, up here.

lol Squiggle, that really is a guilty face!

Physio was happy with the improvement in my muscle tone. She has modified one of the exercises as it was causing pain in my right hip, and given me an exercise plan to strengthen the muscles in my lower back, too. I go back in a couple of weeks and hopefully there will be further improvement.
