EL now that her weight has stabilised I don't think there is any chance of the diabetes returning.  They were talking about being able to change her status at one stage but now they say that officially you always remain classified as diabetic.

Poor little love is so down at the moment, this is the lady who has had chronic arthritis since she was a small child and her back is just crumbling away, in fact one side has just slipped down from the arthritis.  She was due to have an operation on her back on Monday and it was cancelled.  Her consultant felt that he could do the operation but his colleagues were not happy that he could and cancelled the operation.  She has now been told that she has to go on the waiting list for another major hospital in the area, and that she is being regarded as a new referral with the delay in being seen as part of that.  It's totally insane.

How was yours?

You are doing so well with your calorie counting, I wish I had half your willpower.

My day was busy in the morning and more relaxed in the afternoon.

I forgot to tell you yesterday, when we bought the rocking lamb, we also bought some pink reins (rather premature since she isn't walking yet) and there is a little owl face on the front of the reins.

Does the lamb live at yours or pb's?

The lamb lives at ours. She has a rocking ladybird at home and another rocking toy at her other granny's. Spoilt for choice.

She is shuffling around on her bottom now but isn't too keen to crawl.

it helps get my portion sizes under control too, I put far too much in my cereal bowl- but I looooove cereals!

 I love cereal too.

Enjoy your bath. I had mine before dinner, as my muscles were aching from my exercises.

Aww, sorry I just missed you, Summer. I couldn't keep my eyes open - and as you can see, I woke early.

Good morning everyone. Weather is dry and chilly.

I hope it isn't raining where you all are.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning everyone

At present it's dry here but by noon it will be raining for the rest of the day. There's a glimmer of hope in the latest long term forecast from the Met in that the wet weather which the southern part of the UK may move northwards to the north west in a couple of weeks time. The northern part of Scotland has had only about 60% of their average rain for January compared to much of the south which has haf more than double.

Good morning everyone.  What a clever app Summer, takes all the guesswork out of it.  I hope your muscles have eased a bit this morning Yogi.  I love cereal too and recently decided to cut the quantity dramatically, I have probably a third of what I used to put in, and I found I don't really notice once I start to eat it.

I hope you are right about the weather forecast EL we could do with some drier weather and I know the poor folk on the Somerset Levels could do with a break.

Have a great day everyone

I reckon I have about 50 grams of muesli for breakfast. That's about 25% more than a typical serving but I don't have any toast or cooked breakfast with that, and I'm more likely to have fruit as a mid morning snack rather than biscuits. I don't put on weight and am not overweight so I see no need for me to cut down

I had one of those nuisance calls this morning from First Call. This time claiming I would save money on my gas if I had a new boiler installed by them. I didn't bother to tell them that my boiler is less than 3 years old and just put the phone down on them.

Oh, First Call are also known as one of those PPI claim companies which phone people.

El, considering the amount of rain we have had up here, I am obviously in the half of Scotland which has had double the usual rainfall for January.

I have no idea how much cereal I eat but it isn't a large bowlful.

I haven't had any calls from First Call yet, but I've had several of those PPI calls from other companies. I even got one after midnight on my mobile!

We have been to Costco and stocked up the freezer. I'm a happy Yogi.

It's been raining here for the last hour and looks as if it will be for most of the rest of the day. There's now weather warnings in place for rain today, rain tomorrow, and rain on Monday. Forecast is more rain for days afterwards. Flood warnings now along the river Severn (and many other places). The level of the river is forecast to be as high or higher than those in early January. My house is highly unlikely to be affected but I know people who are at risk.

A rather seedy court case in Bristol Crown Court involving an incident following the Cheltenham Festival has finished today with those charged being acquitted.

The link also has links to earlier reports made during the course of the trial.

It would not surprise me if this isn't made into a film though it's quite possible that a similar story has been filmed before.

It's just awful and some people are having a terrible time of it. I'm glad you are unlikely to be affected, El.

We've had a little flurry of snow and it is really cold. Brrrr!

When The Tudors was first shown, there was one episode which stood out above the others and that was the last episode of series 2 Destiny and Fortune which was the last 2 days of Anne Boleyn's life leading to her execution. Some time ago the BBC repeated the series. I didn't want to watch it but made a point of recording that one episode. I saw it last night and still consider it to be truly exceptional television.

This 9 minute clip has been extracted from the episode to concentrate on the last few minutes of her life. Although the series as a whole carries a 15 certificate, this episode is of a different nature to the rest of the series and would get a PG at most. The execution is very tastefully done, is totally inofensive, zero blood shown, and would not upset anyone who is remotely squeamish. If any execution scene can be described as beautiful, this is as close as possible.

Good morning everyone, I popped out to top up the bird feeder and it is freezing out there so I'm snuggled up in the warm and intending to stay there.

Nice that you could pop in moonie

I am not sure when the danger will have passed from the high tide surges EL but I hope it passes off without causing loss of life or damage.

Have a great day everyone
