Apparently in the 28th in the early evening Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will be in the night sky at the same time, something which won't happen again until 2040, You would need to be in an area with little light pollution , able to see a low horizon as Mercury and Saturn will be at a low level, and of course, clear skies. Venus, Jupiter and Saturn will be the brightest, Mars less so.

Interesting news item on the local news website about Tom Chambers (Inspector Sullivan in "Father Brown").
https://www.gloucestershireliv...pector-morse-9935118
He's going to be in a new stage play where he's playing Inspector Morse in "House of Ghosts".

Website for the play which includes a short clip of Chambers announcing his role:
https://inspectormorseonstage.com/
The play is written by Alma Cullen who wrote the script for 4 episodes of "Inspector Morse".

The next series of "Father Brown" has been commissioned. We may get an idea as to what happens with Inspector Sullivan in the last episode of the current series in a month's time. It's already on iplayer but I'm waiting until it's shown on television.

Good afternoon Buddies

An overcast drizzly day. A high of 4° expected but getting warmer next week

Have a nice day everyone

Drizzling here now rather than rain. Staying cloudy though could get a bit of sunshine on Monday

Good morning everyone

Rather cloudy day here but staying dry. Less cloud tonight and a forecast low 0f -1°.
Monday some sunshine and slightly less cold, Tuesday could be a lovely sunny day with a high of 8°, warmer still on Wednesday and even warmer on Thursday but unsettled.

I hope everyone has a good day

Slim, little to note on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week. Om Thursday at 7.45 in the morning is a minor British film called "Smart Alec" (1951). A bizarre attempt at a humorous murder mystery. A fat rich man snoozing on a balcony is bludgeoned to death while the Smart Alec of the title has one of the dumbest alibis ever.
I suspect the film is one of those where it's only watchable if one is in the right mood.
Charles Hawtrey is in the cast,
Early directorial film of John Guillermin's who became better known in the 1970s for "The Towering Inferno" and "Death on the Nile" (Peter Ustinov), and the first remake of "King Kong" (1976)

Thank you El

I'm not sure I'll be in the right mood at that time of the morning El ...so will probably give it a miss

I remember watching 'The Towering Inferno' with it's huge star casting, it was probably my first disaster movie.

I saw "The Towering Inferno" too when it was released though I had seen some classic disaster films on television before. "In Old Chicago" (1938) which was shown on television the year before TTI was released (the great fire of 1871). Had also seen "San Francisco" (1936) (the 1906 earthquake). "The Hurricane" (1937) .
"The Hurricane" is the best of those and the only one I've seen more than once

I was fairly certain that I had mentioned "The Hurricane" before so did a search on that and found when I had. Looks at my reply and saw that your next post mentioned it,

Good morning everyone

Fairly sunny here but a frosty start minus 2° outside at present,High of 6° forecast.

The BBC forecast from Wednesday is very different to the Met Office forecast. BBC has rain every day, Met Office doesn't. BBC has gusty winds in the 40s on Friday morning and Sunday morning, Met Office doesn't.

I hope everyone has a good day
