Slim, little much on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week to mention. There's a 1958 British crime drama called "Nowhere to Go" on Wednesday morning. Sounds rather downbeat. Was the last but one Ealing Studios film but not a comedy. The only reason for mentioning the film is that it was the first significant film role of Maggie Smith.

Thankyou El

As much as I love Maggie Smith, I might give this one a miss

I watched "Appointment with Venus" yesterday evening and enjoyed that. David Niven and Glynis Johns were likeable in it.
More of an adventure film. Although set during World War 2, what little violence in it is mild which is why it still carries a U certificate.

The most spectacular view I've ever seen was years ago I was driving along the A39 in North Devon. It had been raining and although it had stopped, the sky was full of dark clouds. Then I went through Lynmouth, There's a hairpin bend there and for a few seconds the shingle beach and sea can be seen. Amidst the clouds was the sun poking through and a sunbeam on the beach.

Trailer for the reboot of Bergerac which will be streamed first by U and on due course on UDrama:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFzaLanwsqc
6 episodes.
Jim Bergerac played by Damien Moloney, Barney Crozier by Robert Gilbert and Charlie Hungerford is played by Zoe Wanamaker so a change of gender from the original.
Various new regulars but the best known being Philip Glenister as Arthur Wakefield.

Sorry, but it’s John Nettles or nobody for me
