Met Office has a yellow warning for wind on Sunday for much of the country, At this stage doesn't seem to be another Storm Darragh though. If it does get named it would be Storm Éowyn
Éowyn was played by Miranda Otto in the Peter Jackson "Lord of the Rings" films.

I'm not ready for another storm just yet El

Wasn't that also the name of one of Prince Arthur's knights in the series Merlin...I believe he was slain by a 'Wraith'

I've just had a look at a list of characters names in "Merlin" and couldn't see a Éowyn mentioned, Slim.
I think you are referring to Sir Owain who was killed whilst fighting supposedly the mysterious Black Knight but n fact the reanimated form of Uther Pendragon's late brother-in-law Tristan De Bois, brought back as an immortal wraith by Nimueh's magic.

I was almost right El

Slim, if you watch "What's Up, Doc?" (1972) on BBC Two tomorrow afternoon, it's watchable but I wouldn't give it the 5 stars rating that the Radio Times does.
It's a homage to the screwball comedies of the 1930s, in particular "Bringing up Baby" (1938). Barbra Streisand isn't Katharine Hepburn and Ryan O'Neal isn't Cary Grant.
Lots of songs you'll recognise, not that this is intended to be a musical.

Good morning everyone

Chilly outside here, some rain forecast this afternoon. Much milder tomorrow but rain during the morning, Gusts in the low 40s being forecast during Sunday.

I hope everyone has a good day

Haven't been outside yet, but it's not looking too bad although I can't see any sunshine
I think we have same forecast as you for the Sunday wind El..

Take care folks!

5 more sleeps...

Yes, Slim, similar forecast here for the wind on Sunday as you do. I don't think it's going to be as bad as Storm Darragh was for our part of the country, To some extent, I think the Met Office have issued the warning for our area because there will be people travelling over the weekend

I've seen it before El and tbh It's not on my list for films to watch again
Not like 'Fiddler on the Roof' which was on yesterday

That would make sense El, and also maybe they're being extra careful after the criticism they've had in the past for not giving enough warning ahead of bad weather

I'd give "What's Up, Doc?" 3 stars rather than the 5 stars Radio Times gives it, Slim

I admit that I've never seen the whole of "Fiddler on the Roof" I did start watching it years ago and didn't like it enough to watch the whole film being about 3 hours long.

El Loro

New series of "Father Brown" starts on Friday 10th January at 2pm. Same main cast as before.
Denis Lawson in in the 1st and 10th episodes (as Chief Inspector Sullivan's father), Walter. Martin Jarvis is in the 4th episode, The 5th episode is the mandatory Flambeau one.
The 6th episode has Angela Rippon in.
The 7th episode has Anita Dobson in and also Linda Thorson (years since I saw her as Tara King in "The Avengers").

The 10th episode does have Nancy Carroll as Lady Felicia. Besides Denis Lawson, there's also Cherie Lunghi as  Grace Sullivan.

Admittedly it is a long film but has some great songs and a story that is befitting to the time

Good morning everyone

Milder here than yesterday but rainy this morning.

I did my M&S shopping first thing yesterday before it got really busy.
For some reason they had decided to change the location around the store of quite a lot of items from last Saturday,

I hope everyone has a good day

Grey! is the perfect description of here today El...no wind, no rain, no sunshine, no snow, no nothing but grey.
You were very brave to venture into your M&S store yesterday...the last Friday before Christmas, I expect it was heaving with people....I've got my order being delivered today and then a smaller one on Monday

Stay safe & warm folks!

4 sleeps peeps!

There are bits of blue sky here now so not completely grey

I got to M&S by 8.45 yesterday so, although busy, not crowded. The collection of ordered turkeys hadn't started. I think that starts tomorrow. I wasn't going to go there on Christmas Eve when M&S opens at 6am. Shop would be ultra crowded.
The food store on the outskirts of Cheltenham closed down months ago. New one being built nearby but not opening until nest spring. So that means more people going to the one in town.

Yeah the turkey crown was the only item I couldn't order, well, I could but the one I wanted was OOS so have that arranged elsewhere
