Well done her

It's interesting to find out where our words come from....Susie Dent (Countdown) is a very good source of the origin of words.

Susie Dent also does a regular short article in the Radio Times each week where she looks at the origins of a word or phrase

Etymology is the word for the scientific study of the origin of words. The etymo part comes from the Ancient Greek for true sense and the logy part from study as per this famous advert

El Loro

Good morning everyone

Another very cloudy day here, may get some rain.

Forecasts for tomorrow are varied due to the uncertainty of where there will be thunderstorms. I think that's why there are no warnings yet issued and that they will be issued later today and updated during the course of tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Met Office has now issued the rain warning which is from 21.00 this evening to 18.00 tomorrow. Covers England and Wales from a border south of Hull to east of east of Milford Haven other than a bit of Cornwall. The amount of rain falling will vary from place to place with some getting under 10mm with others getting 40-60mm. There is a low chance that a few spots  could get 80-100mm more likely in the southern part of the warning area.

Slim, a couple of films on the Talking Pictures tv channel over the coming week.

This evening at 19.00 and again on Tuesday at 12.35 "You Were Never Lovelier" (1942) a musical starring Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth set in Argentina. Slight story but Astaire said that Hayworth was his favourite dance partner and she said this was her favourite film of hers.

Thursday at 22..10 "She Played With Fire" (1958), a minor British film noir with Jack Hawkins as an insurance investigator, Arlene Dahl and Dennis Price.
