Slim, not much new of interest on the Talking Pictures tv channel during the coming week,

On Wednesday evening there's a 1949 film called "We Were Strangers". Unlikely you will want to watch it considering it's about a revolutionary group trying to kill the president in 1930s Cuba. It was directed by John Huston and starred Jennifer Jones and John Garfield.

On Saturday at 21.05 there's "Adam Had Four Sons" (1941). A period drama about a governess who becomes the centre of a wealthy family when her employer's wife dies. Ingrid Bergman's second American film.

Thankyou El
Yes, you're probably right re the first film you mention ...sounds a little heavy.
The second one though sounds a much better watch ...I like a good period drama

I doubt you would like the first film, Slim

The second film "Adam Had Four Sons" also had Susan Hayward and Fay Wray in. The part of "Vance" was played by June Lockhart who would become famous years later as Maureen Robinson in the 1960s Tv series "Lost in Space".

Although it got down to 10˜ here last night that was outside, Inside more like 20° so no need for me to start thinking about a  winter duvet

A warning that the 4th photo headed Deadly Bite is of a jaguar killing a crocodile.
The 6th photo is of a spider.

Cheers El
They're all pretty special but am loving the baby owls photo...they look dead cute

Do you think David Bowie appreciated having a spider named after him

Thanks Slim
The owls one was my favourite too

I think David Bowie would have appreciated that - the full name of his 1972 album was "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars", the Spiders from Mars being the name of his band,

I've never seen one of those organs before....has a great sound to it
Especially when it plays the Laurel & Hardy theme tune

The American Fotoplayer was used in American cinemas in the silent era to provide a musical accompaniment to the films. Based on player pianos which used piano rolls, enhanced to become closer to pipe organs with additional sound effects as per the clip
