TBF Squiggle because we support/like a HM that doesn't mean we have to be positive about them all the time,does it?

We will just have to agree to differ on that Lee.  In my book it does, but then we are all different aren't we?  I used to support Mario and Corin and even now I try not to make too many negative remarks about them even though I am seriously disappointed in both of them.

OK since we're going off topic, I think people can start as many threads as they want as long as the topics aren't just repeating themselves.  I love Erin's threads, they are often breaking news and other valuable information, for which I am very grateful.

I don't think Karma was complaining about Erin's threads, just that she likes to start a lot. Think erin may have taken it the wrong way though.

I never have done the blind support tbh Squiggle....IN RL I am more than prepared to acknowledge my own faults and any of those I love ....No-one is perfect and it's absolutely impossible to be right/flawless 100% of the time, I don't believe anything is to be gained by it tbh if we acknowledge good points it's only fair to be prepared to acknowledge bad,imo of course.

I'm like you Lee.  I like to tell off my favourites when they've annoyed me.

the only HM I ever supported was Science and his good and bad points were pretty evenly weighted. .I used to discuss both in equal measure.. I  certainly never wore blinkers and discussing both sides made for some really good debates..

I like Ben a lot, however I am so not blind to his faults and actually quite disliked his imitation and slagging of Andrew. Didn't like that at all

I take the view Lee that there are more than enough people willing to trot forward, again, to tell us all about Ben's bad qualities.  I try not to do that but to accentuate the positive. That does not mean I am blind to Ben's faults just that imo his good points vastly outweigh his bad.  There are so many people in there who argue fuss and fight I like Ben for his wit and charm and friendliness.

but squiggle if you are having a debate how can you ignore complete facets of a persons character..  surely in order to debate you need to discuss both sides? 

Even Ben talks about his positive and negative sides with no problem.. it's the parts together that make the whole or all you have is a Disney character. .

That's fine Squiggle that's your way but I think it's unfair to expect everyone to do likewise, or undermine their standing as a supporter if they don't.

Exactly Spider ....I supported Darnell and ran a darn gauntlet for doing so ,as did many Danrell supporters, but when he was wrong he was wrong end off.

Think about it - you wouldn't let a member of your family be a prat without telling them so, would you? So why should a stranger on telly deserve unwavering, uncritical approval no matter what they do?

I support Ben, but when he's being a twonk I will say so. I also support JJ as an HM, but that's really difficult on here when there are some very blinkered views about. I know he's a tosspot and very stupid and his rants drive me to distraction, but for value in the house he's a good 'un and without him the house...and the forum, would be too quiet.
Hands on hearts people....without the so-called 'nasties', would BB be worth watching? BB4 proved that putting 'normal' people into the house equalled borefest

I can't quote,again,any road Olly there were days when I fell about laughing at Science and others I'd gladly have throttled him,I think the same can be said for any HM I have supported....Much the same as my family,days I could hug them to bits and others ,if they're being prats, I could shake them.

Olly we are all different people, that's what makes a forum.  Many like to criticise a lot, I don't.  I have admitted that Ben has faults, I merely say that imo his good points far outweigh his bad, and I think my viewpoint is as valid as anyone else's.  You obviously can't stand the guy, I don't question that viewpoint in the many threads I see it in, its your view you are entitled to state it.

I joined CH4 forum slap bang in the middle of the Aislyene fans v Nikki fans forum wars.  In fact I joined specifically to have a go at Nikki fans as my brain could not compute why anyone would support her.

I see it as perhaps Erin didn't like/approve of something he done,I still don't see that as a problem though but obviously it may be for some....Perhaps it would be best of you lightened up Squiggle and didn't expect all supporters to be blinkered/uncritical.....,I understand completely Erins position ,last year I was criticised and castigated for daring to post my opinion of what I saw as negative aspects of Freddy who I initially supported,so much so I felt forced to remove his name from my sig.

you have said that to me before with nothing to back it up at all....  and I am getting fed up of it frankly...

I have never said I can't stand the guy ..  and I have pointed that out to you before in other  discussion threads..  yet you choose to ignore it.. 

I have said I can't stand some of the things about him. . and I have also said he is a cracking HM too and has made me laugh out loud at times as well as boil red with anger..

Please take the time to read all my responses to you  properly instead of scuttling off to your Ben supporter thread to grumble about 'agressive' people on the forum..  [we can see you, you know   ]  


Also when LUTTing if Ben does something funny I record it and laugh. .

if he does something awful I record  that too  and grrrr  instead

when I first joined, instead of just lurking to read the LUT,  it was purely to debate [twas the Science series]   and I remember having long debates in a  friendly manner.. it was great and very enjoyable..

I left at the end of that series and came back for the CBB one. . then the following summer I noticed it had changed a bit and then got worse as the years went by
