I have become more of a lurker then a poster on here of late, mainly due to the venomous postings of others on here about people in the house's appearance.  Calling Josie fat, John Crab eyed, Caoimhe bow legged etc. But ironically these same people slag JJ off for saying things about other peoples physical appearance.  admit through bias I support JJ a lot, however those who dislike him have taken it onto a completely new level. Not a nice ambience on here any more.

John Crab eyed
That one wasn't a physical thing, I think it was in the context of "his eyes were out on stalks" when the new girls went in.

Must say though, I've never liked all the "she's too fat, too thin, too pale, too whatever" stuff that is aimed mostly at the female HMs.

I think the crab eyes thing is ok...but I do agree that it's in bad taste to slate HMs appearance.  Disclaimer, clothes, hairdos, shoes etc are fair game.

WEre you a member of the C4 forum?  If so, the way the housemates are referred to on this forum is very mild in comparison.  I think that all the housemates know exactly what they are letting themselves in for when they apply to be on Big Brother, and know that any physical, mental, or emotional attribute will be dissected and slagged off in great detail. They have chosen to put themselves in the public spotlight, and are generally attention seekers, so really shoudl be able to cope with whatever is said about them.  What I think is so nice about this forum whilst this series of BB has been on is the lack of personal insults between FMs unlike C4 when some members became incredibly abusive towards other FMs because they liked or didn't like a particular housemate.  I don't see a problem in people expressing any view about the housemates, whether it be about their appearance or personality and whether it is negative or positive - but there can never be an excuse for the type of personal insults that used to be made on C4.

I think perhaps posters should try to use their best judgment about what it is reasonable to say about a housemate
BUT I also think that anybody who enters Big Brother as a contestant should know perfectly well that thy will be considered fair game by members of the public, the media, people on forums.
I also think we should remember that it is primarily light-entertainment.
I hope some housemates can even laugh at themselves.
Sadly, as we have seen, some cannot.

I think you might have missed some of the threads around here recently then, Growly. Some FMs have become very nasty and childish towards others.

Specifically about the Josie's weight issue (as I am guilty of starting that thread!).

As it was the focus of a storyline during a good part of a recent episode of highlights I think it is perfectly acceptable for people to give their opinions on this.

The same can be said of CRAB EYES which lasted over several days!!!

I must have missed the bow legged thing, first I've heard of it.

My point is if their appearance becomes part of the storylines then it would be ridiculous to consider it off-limits for discussion.

I don't support him for doing it. Everyone's favourite does things they don't like. It's not the slagging of the housemates that annoys me the most, its the people doing the slagging slag off JJ especially for doing it then do it themselves.

it seem ok for JJ to mock people that can hear him, but not for us to mock him and he can't. I'm a Corin supporter and we take some stick...but I'm luvin it typed whilst I adjusted me bolt ons

The funny thing is, ever since JJ was called 'Crab Eyes' every time I see his eyes they do look a bit...well... 'crabby'. Honestly

Everyone's got odd things about themselves, no-ones perfect....well apart from me, I mean I'm just bloody gorgeous. This morning I had to double check myself in the mirror as I was looking much sexier than the day before....*sigh* It can be a real burden
