That's really good news ............but why is it any of your bosses business what you do outside working hours? If you like your pub job and want to keep it on .......it really shouldn't have anything to do with promotion prospects should it?

I agree with Soozy, that's brilliant news, but it's not as if your 2nd job is impacting on your 1st job or they wouldn't have offered you a promotion. Maybe a bargaining tool to get a decent pay rise though....couldn't you keep your 2nd job Friday & Saturdays (if you wanted to, then you'd be fresh for work during the week and still earning extra...?

For some reason some companies don't allow you to take a 2nd job (it's been written into contracts I've had before now). No idea why they do this, but I have seen a couple of people getting in shite in the past for having weekend/evening bar work and not declaring it. Seems mental to me

I got offered a part in a salad. I'm considering my options carefully.

I think the boss wants me out the pub because even though im only supposed to do Fridays and Saturdays they constantly take the pee and i often find myself working Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays which obviously impacts me at priority 1 job. Take tonight for instance. I asked if i was needed to work tonight on Monday and last night. I heard nothing back so assumed that i wasn't needed. Got a shitty txt half an hour ago asking if i was going to bother showing up for work!!!! GRRRRRRR!!!!

Also i have saturday night booked off to take my mum for a meal for mothers day. I booked it off 3 weeks ago. Its the first night off iv had in 2 months! I got a txt today asking if i could work after all. NO!!!!! I BLIDDY CANT!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Kelly you are so lucky to have 2 jobs in these hard times and get a promotion, I'd take the promotion but work out a good pay rise and jack the pub in, give yourself a well earned rest of an evening....

Exactly ............you do have the option to say no - you sound like they call on you at a moments notice ......it's good that you are obliging as obviously the money comes in handy but .........you are well within your rights to say no.
