Velvet, I think he is.
What I say IS TRUE though, after 2006 he only made appearances for England from the subs bench and gained so many caps from coming on from 80 mins in. He didnt contribute anything at all. The number of caps at international level is the only reason why he is being considered in this award. Without it he wouldnt be up for lifetime achievement award.
Yeah he changed the fortunes... when we had a chance he blew it, got himself sent off against Argentina, then few years later blew it against Portugal.
Im ignorant because I don't bow down to Beckham? Jesus f*cking christ

OMG, you are just a little boy. Argentinia? How many years ago was that and how hard did he work to make up for it. If you just don't like David Beckham, say so.

Doesnt matter how many years ago it was... you could say how many years ago was it when he was actually a decent player? Working hard to make up for it but didnt succeed in my eyes.
I'd give him one.

A kick up the backside? So would I
Anyway im off now, off to bed to continue reading Alan Sugars "What you see is what you get" autobiography.Quite a good read so far, but sounds like a right stuck up bar-steward when he was young

I don't like "Brand Beckham" at all . I think Victoria is the biggest waste of space ever and she has probably done more to promote eating disorders in young women than anyone else...
BUT that aside...
David Beckham just comes across as a nice bloke - not the brightest candle on the birthday cake but a nice bloke. He has been a fantastic ambassador for the game and has set up academies for up and coming football players in this country.
So he does deserve some recognition for that.

Well deserved IMO.
I can think of far more worthy players than him ... but IMO footballers are all a bunch of overpaid, over-valued knob 'eads, whose contribution to this country rates minus 100 to me
