 Sparkle motion

After an eviction and the ‘Big Money Twist’, Big Brother decided to put a little spark back into the House to pick up the sombre mood. To add some fireworks to the evening Big Brother provided the housemates with some sparklers, not forgetting the gloves for safety. The housemates all donned their best bonfire outfits, with Jay slipping on a gillet and Louise chucking on some trackies. Tom only went so far with his outfit, keeping his short shorts on popping on an anorak over his shirt.

Once the housemates were dressed warm and safely, the housemates dashed out into the garden and lit their sparklers. Tom and Alex pretended their sparklers were magic wands and cast spells on each other, chanting and waving their wands around. Jay and Aaron took a far more grown up approach to the proceedings with Aaron saying, “I thought they were going to give us indoor fireworks.” Jay carried on by saying “I know, we’re adults; we’s know what we’re doing.”

Well, the sparklers certainly went down with a bang and have put a smile back on the housemates faces but how long for? With the ‘Big Money Twist’ happening, how long will it be before things heat up and we see some fireworks?

Allard day's night

While all the other housemates have retired to bed, Aaron has taken the chance to muse about Big Brother life in the living room: tonight has been an eventful night for the contract manager. But what exactly is on his mind?

Faye’s eviction clearly left Aaron feeling heartbroken at the loss of such an integral part of his Big Brother experience. Since he exchanged ‘I love yous’ and goodbyes with his sweetheart earlier, he’s seemed a lot quieter, and at times a little reluctant to talk to the other housemates. His conversations with Big Brother tonight have revealed the extent of how he’s feeling on this situation, which has massively saddened him.

Unfortunately for Aaron, though, the loss of Faye wasn’t the only bombshell that was dropped tonight. The revelation that Big Brother will be halving the winner’s prize fund was a shocking one for all the housemates. The realisation of this might be a comforting one to a housemate that isn’t confident of winning, though: after all, some money is better than none! Was Aaron one of these housemates, though?

These revelations bring many more questions. Aaron is clearly upset, but what is this in relation to? What’s troubling him more? The loss of his sweetheart, or the loss of the prize money?

 Rise and shine

It’s the morning after the night before, and the housemates have woken up to the reality that they’re another person down. It’s fair to say that the atmosphere post eviction is always a little subdued, but Faye’s departure seems to have affected the housemates’ mood quite a bit.

Aaron has spent the morning either sitting quietly by himself or talking to Big Brother in the diary room. The atmosphere has also affected usually cheery housemates, Alex and Tom, who are both in uncharacteristically quiet moods.

Jay and Louise are the only exception to the rule – they chose to spend their morning cuddling and kissing, and generally being happy after Louise was saved by the public vote last night. Speaking to Jay in the bedroom, Louise joked that she thought that she would be in a hotel this morning and is “so happy” to have stayed for another week.

With only five housemates left, will they rally together to make the best of the last week or will the subdued mood remain throughout the day? Stay with us as we keep you up to date with the latest news from the House.

Day 58: Eyes on the prize

Last night, Big Brother revealed to the Housemates that this year’s winner wouldn’t receive the whole prize sum of ÂĢ100,000. They will be guaranteed half of the prize money, whilst the other ÂĢ50,000 will be shared out amongst the remaining five housemates. Initially, they decided that they would split it evenly, however earlier this afternoon Big Brother revealed the twistâ€Ķ

Housemates were told that the money has been divided into the following amounts: ÂĢ30,000, ÂĢ15,000, ÂĢ4,000, ÂĢ990 and ÂĢ10. They were then informed that they had until 5pm this evening to divide the money amongst themselves and that if they failed to do so, they would receive none of the money.

After some deliberation, they decided that the fairest way to decide who got what, was to write the amounts on a piece of paper and pull them out of a hat. The money was split as follows:

ÂĢ30,000 – Alex

ÂĢ15, 000 – Jay

ÂĢ4,000 – Louise

ÂĢ990 – Aaron

ÂĢ10 – Tom

However, the housemates have till 5pm to make their final decision - will they change their mind as the time ticks on? We’ll bring you confirmation when the time is up.

Happy Camp

The mood in the House has lifted from this morning, as the housemates got stuck in to a bit of role play.

Donning American accents, all of the housemates apart from Aaron decided to indulge in a pretend scenario called ‘Happy Camp’. As part of their new camp, they decided to bake a cake to cheer everyone up. Talking through the process in a chat show style, Jay commented “Right guys, what I’ve done is added four eggs and s***tload of sugar” with co-host Alex adding “I love sugar, it tastes so sweet”.

Even though Alex was a dab hand at co-presenting, she wasn’t so good at the baking side, managing to crack some shell in to the mixture. Covering up her mistake, she joked “Oh, bit of egg shell. It’s ok, I love the crunch”. Apart from their questionable baking skills and accents, they did a good job at presenting their cookery show. Maybe it’s a sign of things to comeâ€Ķ

Task Alert – ‘Pass the dare’

It’s been a strange old day in the Big Brother House, newly Faye-less and contending with the money split decision earlier, the mood has been slightly wavering. Aaron has spent most of the day finding areas of the House to have a nap or a little moment alone. So it’s just about time Big Brother shook things up a bit, and what better way than with a daring Taskâ€Ķ

Today’s Task will see the housemates playing a game of ‘pass the dare’.When the music starts Housemates must pass the parcel around the group in a clockwise direction.

When the music stops, the Housemate that has the parcel must open one layer of paper. Inside the first 6 layers of the parcel are dares that the Housemates must complete. The following 6 layers will contain a dare and a prize.

Housemates are not allowed to swap dares or ask other Housemates to compete the dare for them and all dares must be completed in order to receive alcohol this evening.

How far will the housemates dare to go? Stick with us to find out...
