our fireworks were rather spectacular weren't they?
*smug*
I tip my jimmy wig at ye.
I watched the London fireworks in absolute awe, they were amazing, and I will admit had me in tears with some of the songs they played out.
I even laughed as I looked at Mr Cinds and he had that fab smile people have on their faces when they are watching something great.
Left me feeling very proud of our capital city tonight. Lets face it, the whole world is looking at the UK this year with the Olympics, so it had to be started in one fabulous blaze of glory, and for me they did it.
OOOOH look at me being all patriotic.
We are an old hand up here for the fireworks , glad we taught you how to do it

Sacked the guy that did the ones for the millenium then?
Just shows that the New Year programmes are recorded at some earlier time, 'cos we had Jackie Bird too.
ENTERTAINMENT: Hogmanay Live 2011
On: BBC 1 Scotland (1)
Date: Saturday 31st December 2011
Time: 23:45 to 00:45 (1 hour long)
Jackie Bird hosts this year's showcase of Scottish musical talent. Phil Cunningham and his long-term musical partner, Shetland fiddler Aly Bain, are joined by young up-and-coming indie folk band Admiral Fallow, as well as traditional band Breabach. Plus, singer-songwriters Rab Noakes and Emma Pollock lead a musical tribute to Gerry Rafferty, while The House of Edgar Shotts and Dykehead Pipe Band pipe in the new year, accompanied by the Hogmanay Live house band.

Thank you for posting those videos EL, I hadn't seen them, the London one was magnificent, well done to all concerned.
You know, at a time when people are struggling to pay fuel bills, when benefits are being cut and when our young people cannot find jobs, this seems obscene.
Sorry guys - just my opinion.
Literally money being burnt.
I thought the fireworks were fantastic too......think it brings the spirit of Hope and Fun for the year ahead...

The fireworks were amazing.. but I get bored after a few minutes watching fireworks.. then I start to think 'how much money just went up in smoke'?
