Day 12: This week's nominations announced

After three days of ruthless nominating, Secret Power Housemate Chris has made his fifth and final pick, determining who will be facing the public vote this Friday.

Marlon was the unlucky recipient of Chris' final swing of the nominations axe and joins Ash, Christopher, Steven, and Pauline on the chopping block. Completing the endangered sextet is Jale, courtesy of Pauline's killer nomination last week.

The voting lines are now open. Click here for all the details you need to evict

Christopher is a farmer

Day 13: This week's shopping task sends housemates down to the farm

Today, the Big Brother House became the Big Brother Farmhouse. And to earn their shopping budget this week, the housemates will all need to muck in.
Christopher, Jale and Marlon are the farmers, in charge of making sure the farm runs smoothly and turns a profit. As for everyone else? They're the animals.
The Big Brother farm boasts a few different kinds of livestock. Pauline, Steven, Kim, and Helen are pigs, while Ashleigh, Toya, Winston and Chris are cows, and Matthew, Mark, Danielle and Ash are chickens. Each 'animal' will need to work to make food to sell to Big Brother. The more they sell, the better their chances of winning a luxury shopping budget for this week.
But it won't be easy. Big Brother will be expecting quality farm-fresh goods, and plenty of them. The farmers will need to decide how hard to work their animals, and any animals who don't pull their weight might find themselves shipped off to the 'slaughter house'...
Will the housemates embrace the hearty farming lifestyle, or are they city slickers at heart? Come back later to find out how they're getting on.

The Housemates will be divided into different groups:

* Three Farmers : JALE, CHRISTOPHER & MARLON * Pigs * Cows * Chickens

The farmers are responsible for making sure that the farm is profitable by ensuring that the animals are making enough products to sell to Big Brother.

The animals will all wear very plain, basic navy boiler suits with a matching hat featuring animal accents (cow horns, chicken comb, pig ears) that are stamped with factory codes: P1G / C0W / CH1CK3N

The farmers will wear worker trousers, long sleeve shirts, wellies, waistcoats and flatcaps.

The animals will be kept separate in the day, in their own enclosures – chickens and pigs are in the Large Task Room and cows are free to graze in the Garden. Their sole purpose is to create produce for the farmer to sell and they must work hard to ensure that they are producing enough.

Throughout the task the farmers must make various decisions which will affect how much produce the animals will make, but these will come at a cost to the Housemates welfare.

The animals will each work in shifts:

SHIFT 1 – CHICKENS: The chickens must fill cartons of eggs. The chickens will be cooped up in battery cages next to each other. An egg shoot will be positioned to one side of the chickens. They must catch the eggs that roll down without breaking them and then pass them, mouth to mouth, along the line to the Farm assistant who will box them up. One complete carton of six counts as one unit for sale.

SHIFT 1– COWS: The cows will make whipped cream. They will use cream from the milking tub. The Cows will use a manual whisk to whip the cream which they will put onto plain cupcakes. While they are working, the Farmer will be asked to motivate them using a cattle prod. SHIFT 1 – PIGS: The pigs must make sausages. Two pigs will ‘mince’ meat with their feet (like squashing grapes) in a trough of raw mince meat and sausage filling. The other two pigs must collect the meat and use an electric sausage stuffer to make links of sausages. They pass the links of sausages to the Farm Assistant who will package them up – four links to one tray equals one unit.

Now of course, the Farmers must feed their animals. Food will be delivered to the Store Room in buckets labelled ‘cows’, ‘pigs’ and ‘chickens’. The farmers must collect the food and then deliver it to the animals in their enclosures. The farmers will tip the food into the animals’ troughs. Each animal has a different type of feed.

Cows get ‘Cattle Feed’; Pigs get ‘swills’ and Chickens get ‘Pellet Feed.’

After the animals have eaten, the chickens and Pigs will be allowed to get some fresh air in the Garden. They have pens in the garden to sit in as they are not allowed to roam free. While all the Animals are outside, Big Brother will deliver the Farmers a lovely delicious picnic for them to enjoy – right in the middle of the garden in front of all the miserable hungry animals who then have to get back to work..

SHIFT 2 – CHICKENS: The Chickens must make bottled pre-mixed cheese omelette. They will be given ostrich eggs with straws in them. They must suck up the egg liquid, gargle it/swish it in their mouth and then spit into a bowl for the farmer to collect. They must then nibble some stinky cheese and spit this into the mix. The farmer will collect this and funnel into cartons. SHIFT 2– COWS: The cows are connected to fake mechanical milkers in the garden and make butter and buttermilk by shaking cream in jars to separate them into two products. The cream is inside a tub above their heads so that it looks like the cream is coming from the cows. The farm assistant sieves off the milk into milk bottles and the butter into tubs. Two scoops of butter per tub equals one unit and one full bottle of milk equals one unit.

SHIFT 2 – PIGS: The Pigs must make onion and anchovy flavoured gourmet sausages – they will chew these flavourings and spit into the mix they’re mixing with their feet.

Later, the farmers in the Diary Room select the three animals – (one from each group) that they feel haven’t pulled their weight in work shifts – to send to the Meat Reclamation Factory.

In the Diary Room the Farmers are asked questions. Each animal must guess what the Farmers answered.

For every correct answer an animal gives he or she will receive money towards the profit. If they are incorrect, they will be squirted with “pig’s blood” will be squirted from a spout facing them in the middle of the table.

The animal with the most correct answers will win a meal for the rest of their animal group.

After a hard day on the farm the Farmers will be rewarded with a warm delicious dinner. The animals will be delivered their basic feeds again and protein shakes.

Finally, The cows and farmers will sleep in the regular Bedroom. The Pigs and Chickens will sleep in the Large Task Room. The pigs will be given pink blankets, pillows and camping mats. The chickens will be given burlap sheets, burlap pillows and camping mats.

There have been complaints and even a petition set up over the perceived bullying of Jale Karaturp in Big Brother 2014.

Both Pauline Bennett and Helen Wood have been accused of ganging up against Jale in the house.

Last night we saw Helen brand Jale a “slug” in another clash between the two sides.

“I’m used to this s**t. I’ve been called non woman, all sortsâ€Ķ” Jale reacted to Helen’s “slug” slur. “Let them f**king think it, I couldn’t give a s**t anymore, I just want to have fun.”

She added: “If I’m that f**king interesting let them talk about me.”

Fans of the show have now launched a petition demanding Big Brother to step in against the bullies.

Even Big Brother’s Bit On The Side host Luisa Zissman last night admitted the the behaviour in the house reminded her of “playground bullying.”

Several of our readers have also lashed out at both Pauline and Helen for their treatment of not only Jale but also Christopher Hall.

Shaun Joseph Mooney commented: “Bullying should be punished because Helen is the worst for it not right to call someone a slug.”

And Mummy0208 agreed: “I think Helens immunity needs to be revoked because what she is doing to Jale is bullying, she’s a filthy home wrecker with a even filthier mouth and I shall be reporting to Ofcom.”

Telly watchdog Ofcom has already seen over 200 complaints this series, with more than 100 alone prompted by Helen’s “Stop s******g Jesus” remark to Danielle in their argument on last week.

Here’s your latest daily recap of all the Big Brother 2014 highlights as Power housemate Chris R Wright delivers his final nomination.

Ash and Pauline discuss Ash’s recent nomination and Pauline tells him, ‘you’re not going anywhere’.

Matthew enters the diary room and talk to Big Brother about the on-going speculation surrounding the identity of the Power Housemate which he says is ‘ridiculous’. He says: ‘All I actually I care about is that I don’t want to be up for nomination’. When asked by Big Brother who the Power Housemate is, he states: ‘It might be Marlon but I’m pretty sure it’s Chris.’

Danielle asks Winston if he has many fights and he answers: ‘I avoid fights’.

Chris enters the diary room and admits he feels, ‘slightly overwhelmed with guilt’, about his position of Power Housemate and is asked who he wants to shortlist for his 5th and final nomination. He is told that he can name three housemates he is considering and they will each have to make a plea. He decides upon Danielle, Marlon and Mark. Big Brother asks him about his reason for his decisions and he says that with Danielle it would offer some balance into the nominations, same with Marlon but thinks it’s risky as he is one of the other Power Housemate suspects. Mark he names just to see how he will react. On the way that Steven and Ash reacted to their nominations, he said ‘They’ve shown a side of them that isn’t very nice.’.

Winston is called to the diary room where he is given a secret mission to tell some tall tales all ending with him vomiting. He tells these stories to Danielle, Christopher and Jale successfully.

Housemates are gathered to make their pleas. To avoid suspicion Chris is also required to stand up and make a plea as to why he should not face the public vote.

After the pleas have take place Chris goes to the toilet and speaks through an earpiece to Big Brother. He decides that Marlon is the housemate he wants to nominate. Outside in the lounge, Matthew remarks that one of the 4 could easily be the Power Housemate.

Later Marlon’s picture on the Housemate wall changes to reveal that he has been nominated much to the shock of the group.

Steven talks to Marlon about the speeches from the group and finds it suspicious that Chris referred to himself as an actor, he explains, ‘why even mention it? Why even plant that in our brains’. He also says that he thinks Chris’ speech sounded, ‘rehearsed’. Marlon says he is just pleased everyone has stopped thinking it’s him.

The Housemates talk about the latest nominations in the garden with Steven saying that he finds his nomination as a, ‘personal attack’, he also observes that Danielle is, ‘in pieces’. The secret Power Housemate, Chris, says: ‘If it was a couple of days ago, I would have been more put out.’.

Steven tries to impress Kimberly in the kitchen with his impressive vocabulary. Kimberly observes: ‘There is a difference between a nice vocabulary and being verbose.’

Ash, Winston and Matthew talk about the nominated Housemates pleas to avoid nomination and Matthew observes that Marlon’s was, ‘one of the worst responses’.

Christopher and Jale talk about possibility of Chris being the Power Housemate and Christopher admits he would still be his mate.

Chris, Christopher and Jale are in the garden and hear from outside of the perimeter someone shouting that Chris has the power. Chris denies this. He later tells Jale to use her best judgement about what she heard. She does later spill the beans to Ashleigh and Danielle.

Chris discusses with Big Brother what was shouted over the fence in the garden and who is most likely to leak it to the house.

Pauline has a 2 hour bath.

Chris and Toya have a disagreement He thinks she is speculating about the Power Housemate but she maintains that she isn’t and is cross for him assuming to know what she means. Christopher says; ‘Get me out of this house seriously!’.

Winston tells Ash and Helen that they, ‘need to spoon’ and warns them that their time is short as Ash might be leaving on Friday.

Steven at last admits his attraction to Kimberly saying, ‘I like you and I want to get to know you more’.

Helen and Mark talk about Kimberly and Steven in the toilet and Mark comments that she is, ‘sound’.

Big Brother 2014 airs tonight on Channel 5.

Day 13 Task: Housemates enter Big Brother's Farm

What do you get when you cross 15 housemates with cow, chicken and pig hats? Big Brother’s Farm of course!

For this week’s shopping task, the House is converted into a working farm where profit is the name of the game. Farmer Jale, Farmer Christopher and Farmer Marlon must ensure that their cows, chickens and pigs (otherwise known as their fellow housemates) are making enough products to sell to Big Brother in order to get their snouts on a luxury shopping budget...even if it comes at a detriment to the poor animals.

The day on the farm began with pigs Kimberly, Helen, Pauline and Steven mucking in to make some real banging bangers. Not one's to mince their words, Pauline and Kimberly did all they could to mince the meat with their trotters (Pauline going one dance step beyond, of course)...

...whislt Steven and Helen collected the meat to make the best sausages in town. Probably.

Cooped up in their battery cages, chickens Danielle, Mark, Matthew and Ash were tasked with catching eggs from the egg shoot before passing them, mouth to mouth, along the line to the Farm assistant. Some chickens were almost close enough to share a peck...

Cows Toya, Ashleigh, Winston and Christopher were the final herd to complete their shift for the day and, as expected, they really milked it. Cows had to whip up cream to pipe onto plain cupcakes, creating a batch of cakes that Mr Kipling would surely never be proud of.

After a hard day's work, the cows, chickens and pigs collected outdoors to dream up the wonders they could cook for their evening meal. Unfortunately for our livestock, their dreams didn't involve cattle feed, pellet feed or swill.

What could be on the agenda for tomorrow's day on the farm? Our housemates can only wonder...

The Power housemate has been revealed to the Big Brother 2014 house.

However it wasn’t by Big Brother, who last night confirmed that they would not be announcing who the secret Power housemate had been this week.

While we’ve known since last Friday that Chris R Wright has been calling the shots, the housemates have become a paranoia mess guessing who is behind this week’s nominations.

But on tonight’s show, Chris, Christopher and Jale are in the garden and hear from outside of the perimeter someone shouting that Chris has the power.

Chris denies this (obvs) and later tells Jale to use her best judgement about what she heard.

However big mouth Jale just can’t keep quiet and she does later spill the beans to Ashleigh and Danielle.

Meanwhile, Chris discusses with Big Brother what was shouted over the fence in the garden and who is most likely to leak it to the house.

Will the housemates believe what’s been shouted over the wall? How will they react?

Big Brother 2014 airs tonight on Channel 5 at 10PM.

Everything you need to know about Day 13

Love was in the early morning air on Day 13 as Kimberly opened up to Danielle about her potential Watford beau, Steven. The night before there had been some heavy back-touching.

A few hours later the second shopping task started when the Big Brother House became the Big Brother Farmhouse. Christopher, Jale and Marlon became famers, while the other housemates were transformed into chickens, cows and pigs. Under the supervision of the farmers, each 'animal' had to make food up to the exacting standards of Big Brother in order to win themselves that all important luxury shopping budget.

For lunch Big Brother was kind enough to provide some nutritious swill, all washed down with lashings of slop.

The chickens then had to play an egg-cellent game of pass the egg using only their beaks. But the housemates got in to a bit of a scramble when they kept dropping them. Luckily the farmers didn't (om)let things boil over.

More fun on the farm included, a self-milking session:

And getting sprayed in the face while Chris laughed his head off:

Things took a much more serious turn when Toya took exception to something Matthew said. We're still not sure what it was.

Just to brighten the mood the chicken and pig housemates had to sleep on some straw, which Mark absolutely loved

This week is shaping up to be a classic and it's only ruddy Wednesday.

Tonight on Big Brother's Bit on the Side - Wednesday June 18th

Big Brother 8 housemate Liam McGough will also be sharing his thoughts on the housemates’ shenanigans.

Tune into Channel 5 at 11pm for a rip-roaring episode.

There have been more than 1,500 complaints over bullying in Big Brother 2014.

TV watchdog Ofcom has confirmed it is now looking into the huge numbers of complaints, which are some of the biggest since the 2007 race row controversy.

It could see an investigation being launched into the show and broadcaster Channel 5.

Hundreds of fans have also signed petitions calling for Big Brother to step in against bullies Pauline Bennett and Helen Wood.

A spokesperson for Channel 5 wouldn’t comment on the complaints but did confirm last night that both Pauline and Helen had been warned about their behaviour in the house over this past week.

Last night we saw a very stern Big Brother caution Helen after hauling her into the Diary Room.

Day 13 in the Big Brother 2014 house saw the group given their latest shopping task.

The Housemates wake up to find that the house has been transformed for this week’s shopping task. Pauline notices cages and a haystack in the garden and the Housemates speculates that they might be the animals which Toya finds, ‘degrading’, to which Ash replies: ‘Degrading? You’re on Big Brother, the whole experience is degrading!’
Chris is called to the diary room to discuss with Big Brother the after-effects of Jale and Christopher hearing a member of the public shouting over the fence that he was the Power Housemate.
Big Brother tells the Housemates that the Power Housemates reign is over and again all the Housemates are equal but warns that a new Power Housemate will return.
Toya talks to Jale and Ashleigh about her disagreement with Christopher where she tells them that she is getting irritated with herself for falling for the small things in the house. Christopher has been in the room the whole time and approaches the group and again states to Toya that he feels he has done nothing wrong and tell her that she is, ‘such a negative person’. She replies: ‘you’re an immature little boy.’
Steven confides in Matthew that he suspects that Jale and Danielle are trying to warn Kimberly off him.
Danielle is talking to Kimberly about her blossoming romance with Steven. Kimberly states that she isn’t keen on anything happening in the house and Danielle agrees, saying: You would wait until you’re both out and see how you are the outside world.’ Kim then admits: ‘I’m just worried that it will just ******ing happen anyway.’
Big Brother invites Marlon, Jale and Christopher to the diary room to tell them about the next shopping task: The Farm. Big Brother explains that these housemates are the, ‘farmers’, they are given farmers clothes and told that they must earn their shopping budget through the production of sufficient farm produce to sell to Big Brother and that the rest of the Housemates will be their working animals. They must pick which Housemates will be chickens, pigs or cows.
Danielle and Matthew have a disagreement when she says she thinks the task is degrading and will have an effect on her glamour modelling career.
The Housemates complete tasks including one where the chickens, who are Danielle, Ash, Matthew and Mark, have to pass eggs to each other down the factory line using only their mouths, for the farmer, Jale to collect.

Jale and Chris have an argument over what was shouted over the garden wall – which was ‘Chris is the Power Housemate’ – she tells him to stop denying it.
The farmer Housemates are told by Big Brother that the farm needs to diversify to improve profit margins and that some of the Housemates should realise the value of some of their animals and those Housemates must be sent to the meat reclamation yard for exploitation and re-education. They pick Chris, Matthew and Kimberly to enter the reclamation yard and those Housemates need to the guess the farmer’s answers about the Housemates, if they get the answers wrong they must face the bloody consequences. The animals get the majority of the questions correct, earning the animals a hot meal.
The housemates who have been watching the exploitation and re-education task are very surprised at the farmer’s behaviour. They are happy that Jale was forthright and made the decisions as they were shocked at how on the fence Christopher and Marlon were. Mark comments that it was like, ‘watching strangers’. The task rattles the house in both positive and negative ways. Mark and Helen are really impressed with Jale’s handling of her position as farmer. Pauline tells Christopher that he needs to follow his instincts and stop worrying about being polite.
The winning of the meal doesn’t seem to be good enough for Toya who challenges Matthew, saying that some of the answers were really obvious and that they could have made more money out of the challenge. Matthew is not happy and responds: ‘I’m sorry I wasn’t good enough for your liking’.
Toya and Mark discuss her argument with Matthew and Mark says: ‘Your tone was a bit rude’ and ‘I know you’re close to cracking’. Mark walks away which results in Toya confiding to Ashleigh: ‘I want to get out of this house. I’ve had enough, I’m at that point. I’m at the point where I want to pack my s**t and go, I don’t have time for this s**t. The next person that tries me. I will sit there and tell them about themselves cos I’ve ******ing had enough.’
Helen goes to the diary room to express her changed opinion of Jale, saying: ‘she played it fair and square’ and ‘I’ve changed my opinion about her a lot’. She admits that without Jale the animals wouldn’t have won the hot food.
Chris and Danielle discuss the atmosphere in the house and Chris remarks that whoever goes on Friday, the problems in the house will remain. They are incredulous that someone cried because they got nominated and Danielle exclaims: ‘On a game-show!’ They also observe that Pauline is playing her cards close to her chest and Chris remarks that Pauline is, ‘trying a different tactic this week’.
Some of the Housemates are shown their new sleeping quarters for the night – a barn. Mark exclaims: ‘It smells like s**t’. Danielle tells the Housemates in the barn that Chris has been saying that Christopher didn’t get the attention when he was nominated that the subsequent Housemates got and that he feels that those Housemates are, ‘the cool kids’. She also tells them that Chris has mentioned that he finds the conversations in the house, ‘boring’.
