Our flying moles have been back over the Big Brother 2014 compound to reveal a first look at the completed Power Trip house.

Although it seems our spy in the sky has still not upgraded their Nokia 3210 to take the pics.

Still, we’re grateful for them!

(Most of) the scaffolding and wood is gone and in its place are pieces of bright purple furniture which complements a rather bold silver and green colour scheme.

The lawn has been cut into pieces by a series of wiggly pathways, one of which leads to a luxury huge swimming pool, where the vegetable patch was in last year’s garden.

And in the opposite corner, a sun canopy hides what could be a new room, or perhaps just the smoking area.

big-brother-2014-house-6

In the middle of the garden sits God only knows what and there’s also a mysterious new building block in another corner of the garden, topped by a large curved box – this year’s tree house or snug perhaps?

Well, we don’t want to spoil it ALL for you before the live launch!

big-brother-2014-house-4

With less than two weeks until the BBUK launch however there’s still some work left to do with builders working throughout the bank holiday weekend to put the finishing touches to the garden and the rest of the rooms: We thank them for their dedication!

big-brother-2014-house-3

It’s said that the first test housemates (also known as guinea pig contestants) will be entering later on in the week to give the house a good run through before launch night.

16 housemates are rumoured to be in hiding and preparing to step inside when the show starts next month, but will they all enter together?

This year once again we’ll see a split launch with the live launch show airing on June 5 at 9PM on Channel 5 with Emma Willis and continuing on June 6 at the same time.

The housemates set to take part in Big Brother 2014: Power Trip have already been “on the cusp of fame”, according to Bit On The Side presenter Rylan Clark.

In recent years, producers have begun casting notable people for the civilian version of the show, with the likes of BB14 contestant Sallie Axl having gained notoriety before signing up.

Although fans have criticised this trend – claiming it helps blurs the lines between Big Brother and its Celebrity editions – Clark has revealed that it will continue for the new series.

In an interview with Star magazine, the former CBB winner said: “The housemates are absolutely ruthless. You may have heard of some of them before, as they’re people who have been on the cusp of fame for a while but haven’t really grabbed it.

“Glamour models, people in the papers. Basically ruthless b*****ds.”

Despite the criticisms, such housemates have proven popular in the past. Tabloid figures Dexter Koh and Gina Rio were voted the best male and female housemates of 2013 in a bbspy poll in December.

The news comes after main show host Emma Willis revealed that technology will be used in the house this year – while bosses are apparently planning to break Big Brother’s fundamental ‘no contact with the outside world’ rule whenever they “see fit”.

Previously it was announced that former housemate Luisa Zissman will join Clark and Willis on spin-off show Bit On The Side this summer as a regular panellist and roving reporter.

Big Brother returns for its fifteenth run next Thursday at 9.00pm on Channel 5.

Josie Cunningham has reignited rumours that she’s set to join Big Brother 2014: Power Trip by announcing that she’s taking a break from Twitter – as the housemates went in to hiding.

The wannabe celebrity made headlines in April after telling The Mirror that she intended to have an abortion so she could “further her career” by joining the Channel 5 show.

Josie changed her mind a week later, claiming that she had decided not to take part after thousands of people signed petitions calling for her to be banned from television.

However, Big Brother fans are now speculating that the 23-year-old could be involved after all after she posted a suspicious message on Twitter earlier today.

At 1.11pm this afternoon, she wrote: “I’m coming off twitter for a few weeks – my management will keep you updated. People can be so nasty!”

The post came four hours after Rylan Clark – presenter of BB spin-off Bit On The Side – revealed that this year’s housemates had begun the traditional ‘hiding’ period today, which involves them being sequestered from all forms of media, including the internet.

Some observers have even linked Josie – who’s now over 23 weeks pregnant – to a Daily Star chat in which Rylan and main host Emma Willis said they’d like to see a birth in the house.

“See, I don’t think I should say this, but having a baby born in the house would be quite good,” commented Emma. “One Born Every Minute is my favourite programme, along with BB.”

“Apart from someone dying, we’ve shown everything in life in that house,” added Rylan. “We’ve seen the conception of how people are made, we might as well see the end result.”

Rylan has also stated in a separate interview that the new housemates have been “in the papers” or “on the cusp of fame”, saying: “You may have heard of some of them before.”

Josie first gained notoriety in early 2013 when she ‘demanded’ a boob job on the NHS.

The show’s top brass intend to subject this year’s contestants to a series of mind games that will drive them crazy and pit them against each other.

Producers had to ensure they are clever enough to cope with the battles planned for the spy house.

Each contender had to undergo a test to see how smart they are as bosses hope they will pull out all the stops to get one over each other during the series, which is called Big Brother: Power Trip.

Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark, 25, warned that with brains come games as the new bunch are “ruthless, sly and vindictive”.

He explained: “This year they’re very, very clever and they’ve all been IQ tested.

"They are the type of people who will do anything to get what they want.

"It’ll be a fight to the finish.”

Rylan, who won last year’s Celebrity Big Brother, also revealed how for the first time bosses are letting housemates use technology inside the house.

Rylan teased they might be able to use Twitter and Facebook to see what people outside think.

He said: “Technology will be allowed in the house for the first time ever this year.

“There might be some element of social networking, which will obviously come into play with the power-struggle element.

"It’ll all be heavily monitored, though.”

Hang on - is this BB's way of saying that for once we won't be subjected to the usual bunch of BB HMs?

After all, "clever BB contestant" is normally an oxymoron right up there with "military intelligence"...

Channel 5 has confirmed that a special episode of Big Brother 2014: Power Trip dubbed ‘The Live Surprise’ will air on Monday 9th June.

Today the broadcaster finalised its schedules for the first full week of the new series, revaling that ‘Big Brother: The Live Surprise’ will air between 10.00pm and 10.30pm on the 9th, after the regular highlights at 9.00pm.

Further details about the mysterious special have yet to be confirmed, but an official description also refers to it as ‘Big Brother: Live From The House’, suggesting that it will simply be half an hour of live streaming rather than an Emma Willis-hosted studio show.

According to the Daily Star, the getaway area features a large glass window in the style of a TV screen, allowing other housemates in the outdoor space to see what’s going on inside.

The tabloid compared the feature to the Channel 4 series Gogglebox – and suggested it could be used for ‘sexy romps and snogging’.

A BB source said: “The housemates will be getting their own gogglebox for sure. Who knows, the other housemates might look on it as their own private TV set and provide a running commentary on any action they see, just as Steph and Dom, and Sandy and Sandra do on Gogglebox.”

This news comes after fresh aerial shots of the house were leaked at the weekend, revealing that a new structure had been built above one of the walls joining the garden to the inside.

It is a treetop getaway pad that looks just like an old TV set.

It has a huge glass window in the front which acts as a screen and means anyone sitting in the garden can see who goes in there.

And they will watch everything that goes on, including any saucy romps and snogging.

A show source said: “The housemates will be getting their own gogglebox for sure.

The iconic flashing eye-shaped Diary Room button will not be present in the Big Brother 2014: Power Trip house, it is claimed.

The doorbell, pictured – which lit up in different colours to indicate the status of the confessional – is one of the hallmarks of BBUK, having been present in every series of the show since it moved to Elstree Studios in 2002.

However, according to TV Choice, it will not be returning for the fifteenth civilian run – with the magazine hinting that it has been given to Rylan Clark, former Celebrity Big Brother winner and host of late-night spin-off Bit On The Side.

“I’ve got the Diary Room chair from my series and I’ve always wanted a Diary Room doorbell,” he said.

Fans have speculated that it could be replaced by a voice-activated system to match the ‘technology’ theme of the new house, which will see its inhabitants granted access to gadgetry for the first time in the history of BBUK – with bosses planning to relax the ‘no contact with the outside world’ rule when they see fit.

The original incarnation of the Diary Room button was sold on auction website eBay by its creator after Big Brother ended on Channel 4 in 2010. A copy was created for Channel 5′s revival of the fifteen-year-old reality format, which begun in 2011.

Last year, producers brought back the garden mangle, which had been the only piece of furniture present for every C4 series of the show.

Big Brother 2014 begins next Thursday and Friday with a two-part launch show.

The teasers, which last four seconds, feature the new circuit board eye breaking apart and reforming as the number of days to go, with a voiceover from narrator Marcus Bentley.

With Big Brother: Power Trip just days away from starting, we chat to the legendary voice of Big Brother Marcus Bentley.

You’ve been doing Big Brother since the very beginning, what is it about the show that makes you want to keep coming back?

Marcus: I still get just as excited and nervous as I did in the beginning 14 years ago. I work with a fantastic bunch of dedicated TV people who are just as happy and thrilled to be involved with an iconic TV show as I am. It’s a mammoth operation, everyone gives 100% and are very happy to do so – it’s a unique show and always delivers the unexpected. There is ,without fail , a permanent buzz around the Big Brother village throughout the run and no matter how tired we get everyone is thrilled to be working on it. For better or worse those housemates keep us on our toes. It’s exciting to be involved with a show like this.

Can you ever foresee a time when you’ll be sick of it?

Marcus: As long as we can keep finding and delivering interesting housemates the team can produce an amazing show. I’ll never get sick of making great TV.

Suzanne Merryweather on Facebook asks: Do you still get excited in the run up to the launch each year? She also says to keep up the good work and that it wouldn’t be Big Brother without you.

Marcus: Thanks Suzanne , that’s very kind of you to say. I get very excited as soon as I get to see the Big Brother promo, my arms get all goose-bumpy and the excitement continues as I go through every show and then I get a bit sad at the end when it all ends. Love it.

Big Brother seems to have experienced resurgence in popularity since its move to Channel 5. Why do you think this is?

Marcus: The Big Brother team is very similar in personnel to that of the shows on Channel 4. I think that the show’s resurgence began around BB 11 around the Josie & John James series. I also think that the style has changed slightly on Five – it’s snappier and slicker and this has added to the entertainment.

Sam Roberts on Facebook asks: What is your favourite moment ever from the house?

Marcus: My favourite moment ever was when I went into the house as part of the “Ignore the obvious task” and the Jaffa cakes were passed around! It was a thrill to become part of the action in the show and I’ll never forget it.

Every year, it is debated amongst BB fans whether vote to evict or vote to save is best, which do you think works better and why?

Marcus: Vote to save helps to protect the more controversial housemates like Aaron Allard – Morgan and can be a positive vibe for the show as you are voting for your favourite and it encourages housemates not to sit on the fence but a vote to evict can lead to viewers taking great delight in evicting housemates they dislike and this can be fun too. I can’t decide which is best as I think they both work well.

Bill Rutherford on Facebook asks: would you like to be a contestant on Big Brother?

Marcus: I’m quite a sensitive soul and Im not sure I would be able to take the constant pressure, criticisms etc from the public and other housemates. But on the other hand I’d love the challenge.

What can you tell us about the new series?

Marcus: It’s going to be the best ever!

@ablegirl on Twitter asks: What is it like working on the show and going into the camera runs?

Marcus: The camera runs are an exclusive place and when you go in them you feel that you are really intruding on the housemates privacy, even though you see them on TV to up close and very personal seems wrong.

There is a lot of speculation about Big Brother’s future following Viacom’s purchase of Channel 5 – with rumours that the contract is due to expire following the summer series of Celebrity Big Brother, do you see a continued future for the show on Channel 5 or indeed any other network?

Marcus: Big Brother is by far the biggest show on TV. And it’s doing very well. I would think that the channel would be very keen to keep it. The rumour that the show is finishing this year is not what I’ve been led to understand.

@j0rdxn_ on Twitter asks: What happens if you are too ill to narrate the day’s events?

Marcus: I’ve had the odd cold over the years but on one Celebrity BB about 7 years ago I had really bad flu. A car picked me up at home, I laid on the back seat and slept all the way to the studios, I slept in my VO studio by the radiator all day only to be awoke by my producer when I had to do VO. I was really ill and it was awful but I can’t afford to let someone else do my Job – what if they liked them better?

He also wants to know is this years “Power Trip” theme will be featured across the whole series?

Marcus: I believe it will, just like last years theme, ” Secrets and lies”.

If you could choose anyone, dead or alive, to be on Celebrity Big Brother, who would it be and why?

Marcus: Stephen Hawking – what a fascinating person with an amazing brain living in a damaged body. It would be amazing to get to know such a person.

@janicestaines on Twitter asks: What has been your most jaw-dropping moment out of all series and why?

Marcus: Kinga and the bottle – outrageous and desperate! And Nadia in the diary room explaining her creation , “The lady garden”. Hilarious – I fell off my chair laughing.

@mattymv8 on Twitter asks: do you still enjoy the show as much as you did when it first started?

Marcus: Even more so now because it just gets better and I’m always fascinated to see how the show keeps on evolving.

You have voiced most of the promotional campaigns for Big Brother, do you have a favourite campaign?

Marcus: My favourite campaigns have been the Golden Ticket campaign for Big Brother 7 and the “Secrets and lies” for the last series.

Thanks for taking some time out to answer our questions!

Big Brother: Power Trip starts Thursday, June 5th on Channel 5.

Most twisted twist to date

DAWN evictions, access to Twitter and a second secret house are among the shocks being lined up by Big Brother.

Big Brother, Channel 5, New Series, Rylan, Show, Games, Twitter, MINDGAMES: With housemates allowed to access Twitter they will be able to see who amongst them is most popular with the voting public [CHANNEL 5]

Producers are well aware that contestants are becoming too clued up about how the show works.

In the past, shock evictions and the sudden arrival of new housemates have been second-guessed by the wannabes, losing their impact on the gang.

So now bosses have decided to come up with ways of springing shockers that no-one would have guessed.

Asked about plans to kick someone out at 6am, host Emma Willis, 38, teased: “It’s a great idea.
