Why does Sam need to explain his deafness?
Because the others want to crawl upto him and pretend to care about how he deals with his deafness.
I think Dan is actually interested in other people in the house and wanted to understand about Sam's deafness. He isn't as self-absorbed as most of the others. (Imo)

I struggle with Sam's speech .I know it's not his fault but I do struggle.That female who does BBOTS sounds like Sam .I thought she was deaf.
Sam can be quite difficult to understand but considering how little hearing he has, his speech is pretty good.
As for AJ, she has a bit of a lisp, can't pronounce her R's and has a strong regional accent. I don't understand how any producer could think she was an ideal candidate for a tv presenter.

Re AJ: you've got to remember that BB recruited Zezi on the strength of a producer meeting her at a party. Unlike Zezi, AJ already has some presenting experience, and while I understand why some viewers have a problem with her, IMO she's nowhere near being the worst BB presenter ever...
