It is heartbreaking, Pirate.

It's good that you are giving your greyhounds a happy retirement.

hi does anyone know if, when you put your bet on and the horse is 33/1 but at the end of the race the horse was 14/1 you get the price for when you put the bet on if that makes sense to you.

My daughter put my bet on for me about 12.30 and she said it was 33/1 then but when it won it was 14/1 so do i get the 33/1 or the 14/1 price

I cant get my winning till tomorrow. I ve never won before 'swhy i'm 'cited

Son says you should get the 33/1 odds, unless you opted for floating odds.

They are discussing the national on the "The Wright stuff".The jockey of the winner has been censured because of "overuse" of the whip.In the final run in after the last fence he whipped that exhausted horse 16 times. The winner had to go straight to the stables because it was dehydrated and it needed to be given oxygen, three other horses in the top five couldn't go the winners enclosure either due to exhaustion.I'll not bet on racing again, even if it was a once a year thing.I didn't bet this year, glad I didn't.

I watched it too and found it very disturbing. The winning horse being whipped 16 times between the last jump and the winning post was disgraceful. It will be very hard to have this race stopped but as was said on This Morning and the Wright Stuff too, i think, that the amount of horses being entered for the race could be reduced from 40 to possibly 25 making it safer. Its a race i just cant watch. It was said also that horses are not natural jumpers which makes the height of the jumps under question.

I think that you would find most racing fans would like to see the end of this race too ! The only reason it exists is to satisfy some sorta ritual for the ordinary Joe. Otherwise, they are average horses, racing over an unsafe course for a ridiculously inflated prize. I saw the two dress rehearsals on Thursday and Friday and they weren't pleasant viewing. No-one expects weather like this in early April but it was rather unseasonal for this type of race. As someone who was brought up surrounded by horses I can vouch for their care. Any sniff of cruelty and people are warned off. Fat ex scouser footballers for example. Most cruelty takes place where people decide to have horses on a whim, and realise they can't look after them, just like city dwellers with large dogs and children.
