You've all mentioned words that I find annoying and unecessary too lol

Others are , "d'you know what I mean" - the word "like"  said every 2/3 words, and "I turned around and said". Hubby and I had a laugh with that one the other day when we wondered why people said it, so then every time we said something we literally turned around while saying it

I see you're on good form as always Blizzie
Yellow Rose
"Goes" and "Like"

I have an ironing lady (ooh get me) who bores me to tears with her insistance on telling me every minute detail of her conversations with other people.

Her:  I called my daugher on the phone and goes "Hi Shell" and she goes...."Hi"
So I goes, "Did you do blah blah blah"
And she goes "When was I meant to do blah, blah, blah..?"
And I go "Shellllllllllllllllllll.."
And I'm like (makes rolly eyes for dramatic effect)
And she goes "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa...?"
And then I'm like (makes jaw drop expression and gives loud emphatic sigh)
So I goes....

You get the picture.  Do I need the "goes" and the "likes" plus added dramatics?
No I bliddy don't..!  If I want Catherine Tate come to life I'll watch the tellybox.
And to cap it all, she was merely relating the story of her daughter forgetting to do something mundane/boring/deadly dull.  15 minutes of my life that ain't ever coming back

*Exits thread embarrassed but glad for off loading the dull, sorry tale*

I really, really, really hate Sales Directors/Trainers who hold these meetings and tell us all what a great team we are and that we're 'champs' and the best of the bunch and it's all punching the air and all that crap (I do not punch the air. Firstly it is a pointless exercise that could cause unnecessary strain on your shoulders and back and secondly, my usual retort at such melodramatics of rolling my eyes poses barely any physical risk). I much prefer the direct method which I have often adopted when trying to motivate people; 'You either want to earn money, or you don't'.
