It's Dessert week.
Signature round is the contestants version of the pavlova. One of the contestants describes his as "collapse-y".
Technical round is toffee based,
Showstopper round is a delicate dessert wrapped in sponge. One of the contestants says “It’s going to go splodge,” as she confronts the inevitability of letting go of it, seeing hours of work subside into tasty gloop.
Who will get their just deserts this week? Apparently the reason why deserts in this phrase is pronounced as we pronounce desserts is that at the time the phrase originated, deserts was derived from the word deserve. The word deserts as used with Sahara for instance comes from a different source.
