"But in a joint statement on Friday, motorsport's world governing body and Formula One management said this year's race should proceed as planned.

The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and Formula One Management (FOM) said they "also strongly believe sport can often be a force for good and that the staging of the Grand Prix in Bahrain will come some way in helping soothe some of the issues which have been raised in the media."

Do they really believe this guff?

And do they really believe that everyone else believes this guff?

Morning EFFT.

I can see from your use of the word "guff" you don't believe any of it either. I have to ask the questions:

"If the FIA and FOM think that sport can be a force for good, then how much good has it done since 2012". "How are you measuring this 'good'?" and "Call me cynical FIA/FOM but is this not about money?".

Personally I say stay away until the issues are sorted out.

As a great singer/songwriter once said "It's all about the money, money, money"!!!

Yes, that about sums it up.

Another thing I have heard was telling us about how tight the security was and that the drivers would be safe.

Well, although safety of the drivers is not to be dismissed, that is just another smoke-screen to try and deflect from the real issue which is, and always has been, human rights.

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing
