I'm sick of back to school hair cuts already Keep still, keep still, keep still, keep still, keep still, keep still... Argh!

Why do people leave it so late to get the kids hair done?  I've seen the barbers packed out all this week with paretns getting their kids hair done and kept thinking how annoying it must be for the barbers.  I got my sons hair done the week before last when it was quiet and the barber said he was dreading the last minute cuts coz he doesnt even get a break.

I can completely relate to you Ells   I like having my boys around during the summer holidays and always feel a little trepidation myself when they start back - even with my eldest who is 15!!  My 'little' guy, who has just turned eight, was a bit nervous and ill at ease with the changes that occur in each new term but he is settling now, thank goodness.

 

There have been many times I, like you, have just wanted to "grab him and run back home." Motherhood eh??

Mine starts college next Tuesday  *starts pacing* 

Well I needn't have worried, he had a good day and likes his new teacher 

 

Triggers last year I couldn't wait til school started but I think with my 2 actually playing together and getting along this summer it was just so nice having them here so much.

They all want it to last as long as possible from when they go back to school, but they do all leave it until the last week and then complain at us because they have to queue I do force my lunch break, and I make my staff take a break too, we cover each other, there's no way I'm working 8 hours solid without a proper break. Well done Ella for being organised and getting it done last week

I used to hate it when my kids went back to school after the long summer holidays. I was always thinking we should have done more etc. - and also (more so than birthdays) it made them another year older.

 

I really hated that feeling - I guess I'll feel it again when my grandson goes back to school. I've still got a year of my other little buddy!

Well this year I dont have this to look forward to. I have officially withdrawn my daughter from school and she is going to be educated at home.  Pray for me.... pray for me hard

As a kid I loved the first day back after the long summer holidays, then spent the rest of the year trying to think up illnesses not to go back!

I was like you, Soozy, i always felt i didnt do enough with them, and you just knew the "what i did on my holidays" would be a half empty page! Always someone in the class tho had super duper hols !
The hairdresser i have used for years loves this time, she calls it her holiday fund! She practically drags the kids in. She has a nice way about her and always busy, the kids love her, or it may be that she has a huge dish of sweets on the go !

Tina school will help her come out of her shell though   Take a tissue with you though coz the first day makes the Mums cry more than the kids!

Wow, those holidays went quick.  It will be great though to be able to go into the shopping centre and cinema again without getting trampled to death.
