Yep, and that was partly because we (the UK) adopted the American Comprehensive system, meanwhile THEY were changing to OUR system!!!

I was lucky enough to be the last year that was split into senior and junior secondaries, my younger sister had to make do with a comprehensive, but by that time we had moved to a house that was in the catchment area of the former high school and all their 'High School' teachers!

If I was being polite I’d call the kids precocious....or something more blunt if I wasn’t

Well it seemed longer ....`Yogi and I were getting worried !

We were taught 9 planets too, but now there's only 8. Pluto hasn't gone away, it's just been reclassified as an Exo-planet!

I remember watching a launch at school.

Exactly ......I saw the shuttle on the launchpad in the early 80s  ....I have to say it was pretty impressive
