Yep....I was about 5/6 when it ended ...I can remember my mum having a ration book....i think sweets were one of the last things to come off ration ....although I've made up for it since  

My dad eats condensed milk with a spoon - he loves the stuff

£1 was quite a lot in those days .....I only earned £3 a week ( in the bank) when I left school in 1963
