Like i also like Alayna for a girl, but in teen years boys saying shes good for A LAY etc. just cos of her name so that ones a no no
My friend named her little girl that and I thought she is going to have the mickey taken when older.

I like the traditional names for children, Charlotte, Rebecca and Molly for little girls and Andrew, Matthew and Thomas for little boys.  I would never inflict my first name on a child, I really do not like it at all.

My daughter is called Chloë - I vowed I wouldn't call her Clo but bugger it I do and she's only 3! Her nicknames are Clowster, Clogletts, Clogster and Chloe clogs...

Reason for her nickname... CBB 2007 with Shilpa Shetty when she was called Shilpa Poppadum for being of Indian descent... Chloë is called Clogs because she's quarter Dutch PMSL - We called her it before she was even born... When someone asks her her name she says Clogster hahaha!

My brother named his son Henry... We have a cat called Henry We were totally not expecting that!

Lastly I have the most ridiculous christian name... No one can spell it, pronounce it or remember it. I always end up having to tell the story attached to my name which is a long story and generally get called 'that girl with the funny name!'

My brothers name is Xander - pronounced Zander. I love it Maybe think about that name Jen? (someone once asked if my mum was a Buffy fan as there's a Xander in that... Not in 1966 you fool!!!!

Yes I read that too. Dreadful article by a dreadful woman it seems!

It made me feel so sad Imagine her daughter reading that The bit when she said it would have taken forsight to imagine what her and her Indian hubby's kids would look like... surely not? My bf is Arabic, and I'm aware that if we ever had kids they'd be mixed race... its bloody obvious surely?

My brother is 3 years younger Saz...  and we fought like cat & dog...

I didn't expect a 5 year gap to make them close friends...  but it works for my two... they are incredibly close.

Plus.... 5 is old enough to give solidarity to the mum when the newborn goes into the third hour of screaming at the top of his lungs!

You liking any of the suggestions so far, Jen??

IP...

I like loads of those names...  my first boyfriend was the youngest of 16 kids (Irish family)... all the boys names in your list were used!  as well as (oh... all these will be spelt wrong) Porag, dermot, declan & strangely there was one brother called Pigeon

I like Niamh - and I should imagine that most Irish people know how to pronounce it... do you get many people trying to say it as its spelt?  (or is that spelled? )

I like the english pronunciation of Caitlyn...
Dirtyprettygirlthing
oh and for extra effect......when they were babies/toddlers i made up songs to incorporate their nicknames of yum yums and bear....which used to be boo boo bear......

so at inappropriate times....ie:when they have mates round.....i like to sing these songs at full volume..........
