my welsh great grandad was called percival garland, his brother was called conrad larcos,dont know how welsh them names are.

I think it's great choosing names that reflect your nationality. I suppose thats how we came up with our daughters name.

I wanted to call her Isabella but hubby HATED it in hindsight it wouldn't have suited her

If you have a baby girl please call her Scarlet or Jezebel. I love these two names.

Ooh I love Scarlet Blue Diamond but our surname is a colour so would have sounded stupid

Same, Imogen is too girly-girl. She's more tomboyish and cheeky. She wore a dress yesterday it was a bit odd

umm, if your looking for something welsh, i kind of like Mali for a girl.

Ok so my dad has just been here and said he likes Malika, so he sat on computer and looked at baby naming sites and has come up with the idea of Malika Lotus for a girl and Dante Malakai for a boy.

Whatcha reckon? Think my old man is abit weird liking the name Lotus.

Yeah I know what you mean, not sure about Lotus but Malika is beautiful (do you pronounce it just as it looks?) I see why he's like Lotus because the thing itself is lovely but the word isn't as much, if you see what I mean?

Yes it does but am not clever there's a fab baby names site with all the meanings.

I like traditional names which relate to a person's cultural background. I think it is cruel to give a child a really unusual or made up name, as it leaves them open to horrible teasing and bullying. I would much rather have several other Sarahs turn round when I call my daughter than see loads of parents looking round and laughing when I tell Digby or Silvercup to get ready! (and yes, I really DID know a poor child called Silvercup)
