I know a couple of people who were at the concert in Dublin last night. They say the delay was nearer to an hour and a half and Axl totally took the piss when he did eventually take the stage ... The cheapest tickets were, I think, €70 or €80 ... One of my friends left after the farcical first half hour of the 'show' ... Should they get a refund?

Was it unfair that they could only throw plastic missiles onto the stage?

I think when Whitney and Amy Wino and julie Andrews didnt come up to scratch, the organisers refused a refund because the people had got the act they had come to see.  Wrong I think.  What did Axl do to take the piss?

Yes but in Axles defence the whole world knows he's a slate short of a roof so they were taking a chance buying the tickets....

That was the impression I got Isadora ... My view is, if you're not interested in performing, then don't ask people to pay money to come and see you

I went to see Paul McCartney in Dublin during the summer and he took to the stage bang on time, played for almost 3 hours and I think I was more knackered at the end of it than he was

What a difference though ... an artist who respects his audience (and has talent - that does help) and hasn't let fame and fortune turn him into a total tw*t ...

He's been doing it since I first started to watch them in the 90s    Any time I've seen them I've always expected him to take the piddle and be upwards of an hour late

He was late in Dublin which is a bit disrespectful but can be understood but I think he flipped the lid when the supporters in the front row started chucking stuff at him, and he said if they continued he would stop..so they did then he stuck to his word.

My brother went to see him in Belfast and he started pretty sharpness and played a good 3 hours solid, so I dunno what his problem is. I don't like acts who get up themselves but I hate even more these gobshite rock stars who think they can do whatever the hell they want. People parted with £60 or £70 of hard earned money to see these idiots.

If they had of stayed off the bloody drugs the half of them wouldn't be wired to the moon (but on the flip side they claim most of the best songs were written when they were off their tats.)

He treated the crowd with contempt from the start ... came on with a real chip on his shoulder and instead of apologising for the delay (which might have helped) ...

A factor I took into consideration when deciding against buying tickets

Sorry to hear that Shar.  I know these rockers have a rock star image to maintain, but it's a piss take when they are so disrespectful to the people who made them the fu**ing rich bastards that they are today!  Maybe no-one should go see the twats again!

I agree ... and the least people can expect when they part with their hard earned cash is that they are paying for entertainment ,,,

There was talk last year that he was getting that bad with his strange behaviour that he would be sectioned....

I'm not sure! The first time we saw GnR they were spot on time and unfortunately it was still light so the expensive lights were wasted. By the time of our last viewing they were into the fashionable lateness. We prefered Faith no more and The Cult tbh. We found watching the recorded Paris gig preferable (and various other tapes)

I think you have a point there GJ ... and certainl the two people I know who were at the concert last night both agree it was their last GnR concert ...

All things considered though, I do think I would have been throwing a plastic glass at the very least at the stage had I been there

Morrisey did something similar once, came on for 10 minutes then buggered off. He's a good lyricist but a complete and utter twat.
I fell out with Mark E Smith for something like that - he did come back, but was so couldn't be arsed he might as well have stayed gone

He's a different kettle of fish though, isn't he?
I looked up to him in a musical sense because of what he did with The Smiths but when he pulls stunts like that and is so incredibly pretentious in his interviews well, let's just say I got over it fast
Prometheus
No doubt he'll disappear for another ten years now. Not that it matters, the dozens of people who have been on stage as members of GnR in recent years were on stage as GnR in name only. The band died a long time ago.
