Well if you will respond to those ads on certain German sites.........
What do you want to eat for Christmas dinner? something non traditional? Try some sort of ethnic restaurant (indian, thai etc) you may get a better choice

I know, I normally get an invite to either my brother's or my niece's. Nowt's been said yet. And I've got away for a few years with being invited out for tea on Boxing Day. I don't think I'll be able to this year
oi you
not something non trad as such just sick of the same stuff. I'd like a nice piece of steak or beef of some sort & a proper vegetarian menu. Not just pasta crap (cheap bastards).

we really need something different this year. TGI's would have been fine but their staff don't even know what day it is s & they're not open either

Nah me either. It's not polite to undo the zip on your waistband in a restaurant to make more space for pudding either is it?
Inadvertent knicker flash to the staff
I'd love to go out for Christmas lunch, but 50 quid a head is just a bit too mental

saying that I think we may just buy a few pizzas from Pizza Hut & reheat them on Christmas Day. Thats how disallusioned (sp?) I'm feeling with all the British crap.Step out of your comfort zones people

My mum pays Although this year my in-laws are coming too for the first time, and we have to pay for them. Mind you - we can take them home straight after, so it's ÂĢ100 well spent to me
Look at the prawn cocktail you could have

Worth ÂĢ50 though Karma? Then again I guess it's the staff labour you're paying for too

I can cook pretty much anything edible but like I said our power goes out every christmas day without fail & I'm sick of worrying about itReference:

It might be worth looking into local pubs. A few years ago I went out for a Christmas lunch with a couple I worked for occasionally. They had steak and the veggie option was a hazlenut and goats cheese terrine with a choice of veggies, some traditional, some not.Not that I could have the terrine, being vegan! But the thought was there. I know what you mean about the pasta though

It does, nice to hake on a menu too...too many places rely on haddock or cod when they do white fish.Reference:

It's the 'not sitting around for hours listening to the in-laws droning on' that I'm paying for.I'd pay double

Very True. The restaurant we sometimes go during the year to has Xmas dinner at ÂĢ50..... and not a lot to show for it reallyReference:
Not impressed then Abo?
I hope you get my sense of humour (NOT)shithead watch it you

I've got a bit more time off this Christmas than in recent years, and I'm planning to stay home and enjoy it

I can't eat meat (unless I want to be really sick for a couple of days) & am allergic to a lot of additives & stuff so was just hoping to find something different. And I know what you mean about the vege options. They are pathetic & useless.Add Reply
