My bedroom ceiling almost gave in, rain pouring through on one side. Buckets, pots and pans everywhere! Got the man here just in time for a temporary fix.
vodka?

It was a bit scary Ells but it`s stopped now. The temporary fix has done the trick. Scaffolding going up on Monday to fix the roof properly.

What a wonderful photograph.
The wind and rain are getting up here is Sheffield.
Glad I don't need to go out until Monday. Probably will though.

I will, thanks pirate It`s calming down now.
Anyune watching the flooding in coastal areas on the news. Did you see the pictures of the front in Troon? I was walking along there just a few weeks ago - with my coat off as it was so warm. Also I climbed that hill - if the weather then had been like it was as shown now, I doubt I'd be sitting here typing this now!
OK here, although there was a stormy interval this morning...there are 4 rivers quite near Thames,Imber,Mole and Wey and all have burst their banks
That ^is the putting green at Largs .
'Come on kids, let's take a little walk on the sea wall to see what Mother Nature has unleashed'....
I mean really! Why? It's like those people who like testing car braking systems by pushing a baby in a buggy straight in to road in front of them when the red man is still displayed at the crossing.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhjeez.. not wise at all .
Nah, they were very lucky. Wonder if the kids will see it as an invigorating and life-affirming trip out.

I was flinching at the first pic with the wee one walking on ahead alone.. had to do a head count when I scrolled down ! Hard to believe .
I know! I read the story practically through my fingers! They are going to get some stick when school opens next week on the school run, and they deserve it!
Jeezo - what idiots. There was a wee boy washed away through a hole in the sea wall a couple of years ago near here - by a freak wave that came over the wall and pulled him through. It wasn't even during 'dangerous' weather. To take kids deliberately into the path of that sea beggars belief.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear of calls to have their kids taken away from them - showing that level of irresponsibility!
It's all pretty calm here in Sheffield.
Home now.. didn't realise how bad it had been down the hill till I was heading for the ferry - there's huge chunks of driftwood, bits of wall etc all over the road in Millport , and more sand on the pavements than on the beach! Crazy high tide again today . Largs is a mess too , the road has been churned up when the sea breached the defences .

Glad you made it back safe, Slinks

Sounds like it might have been more hazardous getting to and from the ferry ports, than the ferry crossing!
Ta folks ! Yep. fluffs, the roads were a real state . Ferries were off yesterday too , so lots of people picking their way through the flotsam and jetsam trying to get to where they needed to be today
