Highlight the quote, go to post reply. reply, then go to the avvy of who you quoted.Right click,choose copy. go back to quote box. Put curser next to word 'reference', right click, choose paste.

Try doing a quote Scotty then 'plant' the persons avvy that your quoting next to 'reference'.

I can't do it yet Scotty,but have  learnt a few things from people here,and gaining in confidence,am beginning to find my way round,and after a few reservations,have stuck with it,and thhink this place will be fine.Everyone is eager to help,and some of us need more than others

Maggie, go through my instructions step by step (up above), write it on a piece of paper first then have a go

I did, but decided to let it go...for tonight

Open a reply box maggie, click on your avatarbut keep the mouse button pressed down
then as you move your mouse over to the reply box a copy of the avatar will come too, attached to your cursor. When you let the mouse button go the picture shoujd embed itself in the reply box, then just post as normal.

Obviously, Scotty has now given up her number two position in the 'can't drag, wont drag' Club.  It seems I am the sole member now of the 'FMs unable to drag avvys across into the quote box'.  Tis a lonesome place.

Good for you Scotty.  Did you drag, or did you plonk it in via cut and paste?

Maggie, I know how you feel.  This place does take a bit of getting used to. I almost gave up myself. Stick with it, we all help each other. You`ll get there ma darlin.

Thanks Fluffy,i am off to eat,and will concentrate on it later,i can already do loads that i didnt have a clue about before coming here,and its fun learning,i thnk cos it's a bit quiet here at the moment people are happy to try things rather than just be posting in a busy forum.This is coming from someone who insisted they wanted a forum only

Testing your avvy lainy...

Scotty, that took me blooming ages to do.  I did the copy and paste bit of your avvy, but there was a lot of faffing about:   putting in the quote, reducing the message box to scroll up to your post, copying and pasting your avvy and then plonking it alongside 'reference'.  Surely there is a quicker way ...  

the drag is out .. it aint working!  Number Two remains open to any avvy drag dissenters, the ones who refuse to copy and paste.  Sorry Scotty, you don't qualify anymore.  You have copied and pasted.  My Club is for true avvy drag dissenters .. on your way >>>
