is there an easier way to post than keep pressing my back button *ouch* i keep getting lost and my ticker just shows who posted last .............. i really dont know how to reply to last post and quoting a post is a mystery to me . i really wanted this to be same as gaga i miss it

Highlight the bit you want to quote Madamski and press reply at the bottom, it will automatically be in your reply box.

It can be confusing at times madamski.  But if you enter any thread, and press the 'end' key on your keyboard, it takes you to the last post on that page of the thread.  At the bottom of each thread are the page numbers (some threads only have one page, others have two or three or more) so you can find the last page of that particular thread by pressing on the number of the page, then when it loads,  press your 'end' key on your keyboard again, and it takes you to the very last post on that page.   I hope that helps.

To quote someone, just highlight their text with your mouse, and copy it.  Then open the 'post comment' box at the bottom of the page, and paste the text you have just copied.  It will appear within a small box at the top, so just come down a few lines and start typing your reply.  It is all trial and error madamski.  Good luck.

haha Madamski, I learnt something myself about 'quoting' from someone else's post.  You only have to highlight the text, and open the 'post comment' box and the quoted text appears automatically.  I have been 'pasting' it as well ..

My attempts to appear learned have been dashed on the rocks.  I will quietly fold up my 'know-all' hat and go home

OK. Some of you have now past the quoting module of Cloudy. Now, before you all scatter to the four winds... try quoting again if you have not refreshed the page. I think you will find other posts you quoted are referenced. To stop this, either highlight and delete the refs you don't want... or simply refresh before you highlight the ref you want to quote. Try it out on this one!

I also type the name in next to Reference then I can see who I've quoted
Good point EA.  I forgot to mention about typing the name in after 'reference' just above the quoted text.

Another great tip I found out today is that if you press that little box adjacent to the X button at the very top right hand corner of the comment box - it looks like an upward pointing arrow - that it reduces the size of the comment box and when you press it again it allows you to open it whenever you wish to enlarge it again.  I find it really useful.

I am not sure what you mean X.  I don't ever refresh the page but go to the top of the page using the 'home' key, go out of the thread, and then come back in again.  I have noticed also that sometimes the text will not highlight unless I do this .. either go onto the page before and then come back onto the page and then onto the quote I want to highlight before it works.  Help ...

I only found out a couple of days ago- Pg Up and Pg Dn keys on keyboard move the page up and down. Also Home key takes you to the top.
And don't forget the 'end' key on your keyboard takes you to the bottom of the page as well, real ..  'home' to the top, 'end' to the bottom and you can forget about all that bluddy scrolling, which would drive me up the wall in the end.  We are all finding out tips every day and soon we will be quite expert at it all and wonder what all the fuss was about.  The bottom line is that we all help each other with little tips and things to make it a bit easier for each other to understand a completely new format some of us are unfamiliar with.

I've been trying to figure out what you meant Twee... either way, by leaving a page and returning to it again, you are refreshing the page you want to quote, so it has the same result. But you should have a 'refresh' or 'update' page button on your browser. This stops you having to leave the page. Otherwise, just highlight the multiple quotes you've got on your reply box and delete until you get to the one you want to quote. When the site is running slow I often find this quicker.  I'm Mac on Safari, so can't help if you're pc though.
