More people are prone to more and more allergies these days

I used to get itchy skin when i ate unwashed fruit

I am also allergic to paracetamol (Quite rare but dangerous)

Also i used to get hayfever quite serious and was extremely allergic to long haired animals even cats!  I seem to have become immune to these now thankfully.

Anyone else allergic to everyday things? or rare things?

Bananas....thought I am not sure if I am or not now, as a few months back someone who is meant to care let me drink some fruit drink which had narnas in, and I was fine...Your body changes every 7 years inni? I think I might have grown out of it, but I was soooo ill on them when I was little, I don't want to take the chance...regardless of attempts from PEOPLE to make me eat them!!

And, I think sometimes water gives me some kinda itchy reaction

zazz

When i was a child I couldn't eat Jelly Tot sweeties or Dutch tomatoes, without coming out in big water blisters. No idea why and thankfully I grew out of it.

I have to be careful with Fairy Liquid as it sometimes causes Contact Dermatitis.

However, I have a new dishwasher, so I'm won't be doing much washing up any more. *does a little jig *

I  think you can grow out of it, and also get used to it, so your body becomes immune, certain things anyway.

I was forced to eat the ghastly rhubarb as a child out the garden(unwashed) even when i said i didnt like it as it was hurting, they thought i was making excuses and told me off

I'll never let them forget it.

I love rhubarb in certain things, but it took me ages to try it.

And something new which I have no idea of.  I had huge hives a few weeks back but hadn't had any oranges so not sure what caused them....itchy buggers.

That's the thing when you don't know what causes it. You have to eliminate things.

Sometimes it is simply a household detergent for me, but it doesn't last long.

I don't even think I changed anything though that's what was so strange.  I can't change soaps, detergents, shampoos, air freshners, cleaning products etc as my youngest has severe eczema so all the stuff we use has to have been tried and tested and know not to affect him so we stick to stuff we've used for years.

Might have been a change in an ingredient in food maybe but haven't been affected since so not sure what caused it.

Ells

I'm allergic to sooo many things I'd tire you out reading them all.

Being a redhead I've drawers full of lotions, potions and foundations that haven't worked with my skin.  I recently bought a shampoo I've not used before (John Frieda) and I now have itchy lumps on my scalp.

More seriously, I'm allergic to penicillin, all antibiotics and all blood pressure meds.  Some years back my gp frightened me into taking Lisinopril and I went into anaphylactic shock and was 2 minutes from death before the medics stepped in with adenalin.  I now have to always carry a Epipen.  And yet I can eat peanuts by the ton!!

OOOh yes serious, someone in my family has to carry that pen for the same reason, and they are allergic to nuts. I always remind them to have it on them.

How could I forget sunshine..I'm allergic to that but I'm ok if I use sunblock but my youngest is allergic to sunblock....

Thickens the sunblock on, and takes you both out in the afternoon shade.

Then runs a bath

Ev (Peachy)

Eggs - nasty horrible things

penicillin

quite a few antibiotics (mainly the mycin ones)

I'm intolerant to a lot of food stuff but wouldn't go so far as to say I'm allergic to them:

things like dairy produce, citric fruits and other fruits like apples and pears can irritate me if they are not peeled or washed properly   it can cause me to get an itching in my throat, affects either my asthma or eczema   things with lanolin affect my eczema too and soaps

but then again I'm a sensitive flower
