It's true! We must be careful of generalisations. Not all us cyclists are rude ignorers of the Highway Code, and I'm sure that not all people who drive big things called, X5, Nitro, and Cock, dump old sinks and rubble in the countryside, or talk into mobile 'phones the entire 200 yard journey from their home to dropping their kids off at school.
LOL Joe, I actually DO know people who drive a five minute walk to the school and it is often women in 4 wheel drive cars. (oooops, sweeping generalization alert...)
But yes it isn't fair to generalize, and there are good and bad in all.

We don't get many cyclists on pavements around here, but then we don't get many pedestrians on them either. This is because there are so many cars parked on them that there's no room for anyone to walk let alone cycle

I think there are far more awful car drivers than cyclists, but then there probably are more cars than cyclists on the roads. Do agree about the terrible habits of motorcyclists though, and when I am on the roads, they weave in and out and budge to the front of queues constantly, no matter how dangerous it is.
Well our roads are in a terrible state now in Glasgow, with the bad freezing weather we had, potholes everywhere.I wouldn't like to cycle on them, cars are getting damaged.
Returned home yesterday to find that some misguided person had pushed a Saturday Evening Gazette through m'letter box. (Google Evening Gazette cycle rage!)
An annoyed BMW driver hit a 67 year old cyclist in the face with a metal crook lock and received 80 hours community service and ÂĢ200 compensation.
I take my hat off to the quick thinking car driver. By going for the lesser form of assault and not throwing his car fire extinguisher at the cyclist he probably avoided 32 months gaol.

I'm a driver, cycling to work would be too far.
I'm all for cycling and try to be cautious when driving but I do think they should avoid main roads where reasonably practical
Cyclist.
I have other people do the driving.
