Yesterday, Oasis star Liam Gallagher sent Twitter into something of a mini-meltdown by posting a series of tweets in which he spelled out O A S I S…
Now, to me, that indicated pretty much diddly squat, other than perhaps Liam’s boredom and determination to prove he can spell, however, the rest of the world took it as an indication that Oasis are reforming. And it seems top bookmaker Ladbrokes reckon it’s a done deal too, given they’ve suspended betting on the band appearing at Glastonbury this year.
In response to Liam’s tweets, one fan wrote, “Liam WHAT R U TRYING TO TELL US?”
Another wrote, “Oasis are BACK its official liamgallagher said so !!!! Brilliant news.”
So this morning, as mentioned above, Ladbrokes have revealed that “punters were quick to back the band to reunite” for Glastonbury, and that they would be the headline act on Saturday night at the globally famous festival.
The bookie originally offered odds of 33/1 on that happening, but they’ve now suspended betting altogether.
Ladbrokes’ spokeswoman Jessica Bridge said, “Punters can’t give us their money quick enough!
“They’re desperate for Oasis to reunite, and the influx of bets suggest Glastonbury 2014 could be the perfect place.
“Of course Liam might be having us all on, but punters are convinced the Gallaghers will be at Glastonbury.”
Here’s a look at Ladbrokes odds before betting was closed for which act will headline Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage on Saturday night:
