I have to say though, i so admire the family for their dignity and strength. How on earth they can listen to that, deserves some respect

Thankyou

I agree about her family, the hell they are going through during this trial, after what they have already been through, I can't get my head around it.

Neither can i, its just horrific...

Nor me... horrific is right

The jury heard Mr Bridger undertook an "extensive clean-up operation" at his home which included the disposal of April's body and her clothes.

Mr Bridger claimed he was involved in a road traffic accident with April, then put her in a car to get her medical attention

He claimed he tried to give her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and drove away to get medical help.

That's one evil lying fecker and now he's torturing the parents.

I'd happily watch him swing

It's just so sad that it appears they will never have her remains back to lay her to rest.

to be honest given his ridiculous defence I would have been truly amazed if they'd have found him not guilty

I just feel for the parents as they can only speculate what happened to their little girl and they don't have the chance to bury/cremate her respectfully

BREAKING NEWS
It can now be revealed that Mark Bridger confessed to a prison priest that he had dumped April's body in a river. The evidence was the subject of legal arguments during the trial and could not be reported until now.

1445:

Reports of Mark Bridger's confession to a priest have not been reported until now because the jury was absent during discussions about the details. The judge decided the statement would not be used so the information could not be released until the end of the trial.

An inquest confirms Coral and Paul Jones can register their daughter's death and plan her funeral, almost a year after her murder.

The five-year-old was snatched outside her home in Machynlleth, mid-Wales, last October before being murdered by 47-year-old Mark Bridger.

Despite police launching one of their biggest-ever search operations, April's body has never been found.

Bridger has repeatedly claimed he cannot remember what he did with her.

But detectives found 17 fragments of her skull from Bridger’s fireplace, leading them to conclude "on the balance of probabilities" that April died at his remote home in Ceinws, on the day she was abducted.

Attending the 10-minute hearing in Powys County Council's Welshpool offices were April’s mother Coral and father Paul, who were flanked by police family liaison officers.

They listened intently as the Detective Superintendent Andy John read a brief outline of the circumstances surrounding April's death.

Powys Coroner Louise Hunt said she hoped the conclusion of April's inquest - which now paves the way for her funeral arrangements to begin - would be a small comfort to the Jones family.

"I want to extend my sympathies for your terrible loss," she said.

"There will be no further formal proceedings and I hope the coming to an end of them will give you time to allow you to deal with your grief."

Bridger was ordered to serve a whole-life term for April's murder.

thoughts and prayers for April and her Family today, her funeral day

April Jones funeral

The family of April Jones has said a final farewell to the murdered schoolgirl as the mid-Wales town that shared their grief came to a standstill.

A white horse-drawn hearse led mourners, including the five-year-old's parents Paul and Coral and their two children from their Machynlleth home to St Peter's Church.

Crowds lined the streets and filled the church and its graveyard for the long-awaited service.

Those paying their respects were asked to wear pink, April's favourite colour.

A message from April's family, written on the order of service, said they "would like to say a big thank you to everyone for their overwhelming kindness, sympathy and support during this sad, sad time".
