Apple ID/ ITunes/App query

On Sunday I received an email telling me that I had just downloaded and purchased something from itunes. I hadn't, at the time I was actually in the hospital.

I had forgotten about it until today when I received an email receipt for the transaction. Below is a copy of the transaction email I got. I have clicked the link for I did not initiate this download, BUT I cannot find anywhere to dispute it. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to dispute it. I spent a hour earlier looking for a link on itunes website.

Your Apple ID, (my email), was just used to download Galaxy Empire from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.

If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.

If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.comto change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.

Awww... well chances are it is probably fine Cinds But I would check with Apple anyway.... and if the worse come to the worse they can advise you what to do.....

we've all done it, and thank goodness it was at work and not home

Don't click on it from home

Go change your password for your apple ID, and apple customer services are fab so they will help you I'm certain of it.

Cinds... there is a number at the bottom of the main UK support page......I am not sure if that will get you through to anyone or not..... but it might be worth a try....

Cheers for the phone number, offices closed. I have tried to send emails even from when I first opened the account, and they are all no-reply. The apple website is just awful to navigate to try to contact.

Cinds, I'd advise phoning your bank and getting the fraud dept.

Wouldn't hurt to run it by them until you get a response from apple.

Cinds, for one thing, when you DO eventually get through to apple/itunes they will get it sorted. I know it's a worry and a pain right now but don't lose heart.

Bloody annoying nonetheless though!

Cinds, I suspect that the email you received was a scam leading you to a false website designed to trap people into giving away their passwords. You may find that once the crooks have your password they can buy lots of music and it will be charged to your account. As you are already doing, you need to get in touch with Apple to get this sorted out.

I think the iforgot link you have posted is fake. I moved my pointer over the link to see what address it shows (the complete address shows in the bottom left of the screen on my computer). Although most of the address is the same as the genuine iforgot link, there is one critical difference. The start of the address is http: The genuine one is https: The rest of the address seems correct. It mightn't seem significant but it is. All secured sites (such as for online banking( start with https.

NOBODY HERE SHOULD CLICK ON THAT LINK

Cinds, at the very least, you need to change your password on the genuine ifotgot site.

I've also changed all of my passwords again this morning. I'm even more pissed off this morning, firstly with myself, and secondly with Apples lack of personal customer service.
