Found it "70 Football League clubs will appear in the first round with Newcastle United and Middlesbrough receiving byes as the highest placed clubs in last season's league tables."

Newcastle and Boro had a bye in the first round but we didn't so we had to play. Anyone interested the Carling Cup second round is on at 10pm.
