I may have to extend it so that there are two runner up names suitable for the laydee silkies.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo .........................you can't have the runner up names for girlies. I have hundreds of possibilities for girle names (Miss Luke is top of my list).

HAHAHAHAHAHA!   Yeah...   though it wasn't actually my intention...   I really was looking for stories from FMs about how they bonded with their feisty cockerels & lived happily ever after in man/chicken bliss

Vancouver?     Dave is in Vancouver?    When did this happen??

(& yeah...  I hadn't realised til this thread started that I had subconciously named my fave cockerel after our resident forum moderator )

I kept fowl for years and had similar problems with cocks and ganders. My solution was to go in to feed them and straight away pick up the offender ( Cock or Gander ) then feed the rest whilst holding them. After about 5 mins- put the fowl down and offer them a hand full of feed. Worked for me- good luck. And remember- there's nowt like holding a cock for 5 mins knowing you are to benefit in the end.

Well I thought he is/was.  Just 'cos he supports the Patriots doesn't mean he lives in New England!  Talk to any Man United fan you know!

I cooked Pheasant tonight. Mr Woo bought in a bit of road kill.

There was one running along the road at Anerley Hill last week..!

Couldn't believe it   Silly b*gger ran all the way up to the lights at Crystal Palace with a queue of cars not daring to overtake him (t'was busy oncoming traffic)

Ooops! I did it again! Yeah, Seattle is in the US. Apologies all around. I've got geography dyslexia about this! Still west coast though?

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww - could Brisket not be an option?

If I hadn't called my fave cockerel Dave, I would say I would call him Brisket..   cos he is the gentlest, friendliest, most caring of all the chickens.   He is always worried about any of the others (male or female) that are hurt...     he gets in the middle of any cockerel fights, he defended the silkies when we first got him.

I may rename Dave Brisket.

I'm used to seeing them down here in the Sussex countryside but I have to confess I've never seen one taking an afternoon stroll in the middle of SE London before!

Mind you, my record with all things bird can be a bit bizarre at the best of times.  I buy my smokes in a different shop now due to a fracas with a pigeon.  Don't even ask!

But I have to now!!!

Come on spill...     did you get mugged for your fags by an uber tough pigeon?

(the bosses wife also keeps fantailed pigeons at work..    only they are sooo no longer fantailed pigeons...   cos they have interbred with collared doves they are now doves...  but we aren't allowed to call them doves    There is some kind of pigeon snobbery going on that I don't understand)
