do you eat meat/eggs katty because the chickens would love to have the life of a phesant including the shoot.
Free range chickens do... well that is if they are truly free range and come from reputable farms.

I love spiders, fascinating creatures especially the little "jumping spiders",tiny but fast. You can see them on the walls of the house.Mini little zebra striped beats.
I know Katty.
I hate killing anything to be honest.
Spiders are a big issue. I absolutely love spiders and get quite stressed when people kill them because THEY are scared of them
I don't kill spiders they have no nutritional value and do a good job at getting rid of other pests.
It's a posers sport Katty.
My Purdey's better than yours.
Of course it is...it's not about eating to survive.it's all faux.
I capture and release spiders etc.not so much now as my arachnaphobic niece has left home.,So I let them be,in the corners etc.,However I do spray bluebottles due to the fact I have house rabbits as pets and even indoor bunnies can get "Fly strike" very nasty.
*aims gun at horrible picture of spider, & fires*
I hate shooting... sorry Neil but I do. I get that they pheasants & Grouse wouldn't even be there if it wasn't for the shoot... but I don't get what would make someone want to go and shoot these beautiful birds for sport.
Don't they eat the birds from the shoot? Pheasants are tasty
Beavers?

Yes they eat them it really is a much better way of doing things even free range chickens don't get half as good a life and a pheasent has a chance it isn't going to get shot where the chickens never get away.
to be fair... the pheasants are only about cos of the shoot... and they do have a good old life prior to the shoot.. and a slight chance of escaping the shoot (stay down boys... down). Its not population control.. cos they are reared for the shoot... also wild birds & animals benefit from the feed that is scattered around for the pheasants.
Of all the blood sports the pheasant shooting is probably the one I have the least problem with. The validation of shooting pheasants by saying "we eat them after" is a bit shit though... I doubt the Mrs bought a meal less at the supermarket, or it was shoot a pheasant or its carrot broth for tea...
I have yet to see anyone on the shoots that looks under nourished
My biggest problem with all the countryside animal murdering issues is Myxomatosis in rabbits.. as a species we should be seriously ashamed of ourselves for that one.
Right... so... pheasants are dozy birds, taste good, some get shot by the Barbour jacket brigade, spiders are creepy but Katty loves them, and everyone agrees my neighbours are taking the piss with their big nasty trees.
I will go and take a pic of the current situation shortly & post it

Couldn't agree more with that whoever thought that was a good idea wanted shooting themselves Myxomatosisis a horrible deasese causes a slow death and means the rabbit cannot be eaten. Not a good thing no matter how it is looked at.
The One Show is going to feature the 'most hated hedge in Britain'!
dunno but does anyone know how to kill ivy?

Is it Ditty's neighbours ?
dunno but does anyone know how to kill ivy?
What's Ivy done?

I think painting glyphosate weedkiller onto the leaves works for ivy..

will try
Insurance policy. When they're on holiday....
I'd slightly vandalise my garden too - to throw the peelers off the scent
Round up weed killer, because Ivy leaves are waxy you should crush the Ivy leaves by hand before spraying.Lets the weedkiller penetrate.
I work for a tv production company called Landmark Films and we are making a documentary about Leylandii Hedges for BBC1. You can find out more about us on www.landmarkfilms.com. The film will be a look at the leylandii as the plant that took over suburbia, the rottweiler of the tree world. It causes so many disputes with neighbours. I'd love to have a chat with you about your trees and why they have driven you to such desperate measures!! Can you drop me a line at lisa@landmarkfilms.com with a phone number so I can give you a ring. Any chat will be totally confidential. Hope to hear from you. Thanks v much.
OOOH Ditty. You are wanted ^^^^^^^^^^^^
the key word in my op was COVERT!
Insist on standing with your back to the trees, Ditty.
No one will see your face.
And some people say we can't be found.
If you can google leylandii and get here, I'm sure BB will be no problem!
Where've you been Ducky????
I have been freaking out all on my own!!!
*holds Ducky tightly*
I have been doing a spot of *whispers* decorating
You should so call her. I'd quite enjoy seeing you TV as the crazy leylandii killing woman.
And some people say we can't be found.
If you can google leylandii and get here, I'm sure BB will be no problem!

Ditty..... you are famous
And some people say we can't be found.

don't think you can but if you google "leylandii kill" this thead is near the bottom of page two so we shouldn't be that hard to find but unfortunatly we are more likely to get people who want to discuss how to kill a leylandii than BB as if you google big brother uk we don't come up till page 5 yes I have too much time on my hands
suits me!
It was a tongue in cheek comment Neil
But I'm with Ditty.......I'd rather this place stayed as it is. It's not really a "BB forum" to me anymore. I'd go elsewhere now if I wanted face paced, mental, BB convo.
Having said that.... I'm sure it will liven up in here once BB does come back. There's nowt like a new series to bring back a few old regulars
tis true... there are some "seasonal" (for want of a better word) fm's that I'd love to see back & posting. But in the end the BB hate frenzy tends to drive me off the forum til its finished
Go for it Ditty, it could be the start of a tv career! First Hedge killers then a Jezza Kyle neighbour dispute special
Welcome Lisa Landmark - make sure you get our Ditty's good side!
I too think Ditty's garden needs a good airing, on TV.
I would of course love to show Ditty's best side! And would love to air her garden on tv. It really would be great to hear from you Ditty.
