Don't they eat the birds from the shoot? Pheasants are tasty

Yes they eat them it really is a much better way of doing things even free range chickens don't get half as good a life and a pheasent has a chance it isn't going to get shot where the chickens never get away.

to be fair...    the pheasants are only about cos of the shoot...  and they do have a good old life prior to the shoot..  and a slight chance of escaping the shoot (stay down boys... down).   Its not population control..  cos they are reared for the shoot...   also wild birds & animals benefit from the feed that is scattered around for the pheasants.

Of all the blood sports the pheasant shooting is probably the one I have the least problem with.   The validation of shooting pheasants by saying "we eat them after" is a bit shit though...   I doubt the Mrs bought a meal less at the supermarket, or it was shoot a pheasant or its carrot broth for tea...

I have yet to see anyone on the shoots that looks under nourished

My biggest problem with all the countryside animal murdering issues is Myxomatosis in rabbits..   as a species we should be seriously ashamed of ourselves for that one.

Right...   so...   pheasants are dozy birds, taste good, some get shot by the Barbour jacket brigade, spiders are creepy but Katty loves them, and everyone agrees my neighbours are taking the piss with their big nasty trees.

I will go and take a pic of the current situation shortly & post it

Couldn't agree more with that whoever thought that was a good idea wanted shooting themselves Myxomatosisis a horrible deasese causes a slow death and means the rabbit cannot be eaten. Not a good thing no matter how it is looked at.

I work for a tv production company called Landmark Films and we are making a documentary about Leylandii Hedges for BBC1.  You can find out more about us on www.landmarkfilms.com.  The film will be a look at the leylandii as the plant that took over suburbia, the rottweiler of the tree world. It causes so many disputes with neighbours. I'd love to have a chat with you about your trees and why they have driven you to such desperate measures!!  Can you drop me a line at lisa@landmarkfilms.com with a phone number so I can give you a ring.  Any chat will be totally confidential.  Hope to hear from you.  Thanks v much.

If you can google leylandii and get here, I'm sure BB will be no problem!

don't think you can but if you google "leylandii  kill" this thead is near the bottom of page two  so we shouldn't be that hard to find but unfortunatly we are more likely to get people who want to discuss how to kill a leylandii than BB as if you google big brother uk we don't come up till page 5 yes I have too much time on my hands

It was a tongue in cheek comment Neil

But I'm with Ditty.......I'd rather this place stayed as it is. It's not really a "BB forum" to me anymore. I'd go elsewhere now if I wanted face paced, mental, BB convo.

Having said that.... I'm sure it will liven up in here once BB does come back. There's nowt like a new series to bring back a few old regulars
