I don't know what I can advise about the spreading of crap at this moment. Maybe others can advise better

Sorry I should have mentioned, its a a big apartment building and there are individual postboxes in the downstairs hall - the slots so big you can yank stuff out anyway.

Can you apply for a postbox at the post office? If I read it right, it's a place where all mail for your address can be picked up by an agreed person

Could think of that. I do most stuff like bills and banking online + I'm practically paper free. The CMHT Nurse Manager refuses to hand deliver CMHT letters via my CPN and insisted on posting them. I really mean it... there are sociopaths working in the NHS.

At this point I'm more upset by the MH NHS staff than the poor woman. She doesn't know what she's doing. They do. I really want them disciplined to be honest - thats why I wanted to read other peoples stories but the links here esp Erin's have given me great routes to go down which is an unexpected bonus.

Its ok ta I feel better  because of the suggestions here and kind words too.

What sweethearts you lot are

You're on the ball  Thats the very offence the police suggested I charge her with. We discussed the possible backlash from her... which stopped me. But now I will go for it. Just to show the CMHT they can't dismiss my fear and distress concerning her - its a crime.

Night night again Erin xx

I would also contact the MP for your area and the local housing authority.

This.

And I know it's probably not what you want to do but I personally would move.  She knows where you live and I doubt you're even feeling safe at home these days

Would but I can't due to circumstances ta Ells

Wow rosie-roger!  You poor cah!

Thankfully you spilt it all out somewhere you can and will get all the support you need when the going gets tough and especially our intrepid terrier, erin, on the case.

I have a friend who works at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Would you like me to chat to her about this situation? She is only editorial staff but she also suffers from MH issues and is very adept by now at finding resources.

Oh my goodness really. Thanks.. . I seriously think my consultant is awful. I mean dangerous, truly, Everyone thought she should have been admitted... police, her own CPN even. But he takes what she says in consultation at face value - even though she's schizophrenic.. Box ticked. Checklist completed. Then he walks away from the consequences... He can't see how my having to film it for a year and a half on and off, in order to get "evidence" to make them section her broke me mentally. I suspect its reignited PTSD which I had years ago. He just offers me more antipsychotics [dismissing the obesity and thyroid problem which I suddenly developed on them].

Not sure what to ask your friend? But what a lovely offer anyway. Just the moral support is appreciated Xochi. My no 1 aim is I really want him disciplined. I might correspond with him further just as evidence of how awful he is.

Julie Bailey's Cure The NHS website advises gathering evidence and shaming callous incompetent staff.

Hope your friend is doing well, its not uncommon and fab she's making a success of her life

FM

Maybe I could just ask her how to scrutinise consultants records or reporting procedures or summat?

If there are any mods out there, is there any possibility a private dialog could be set up for rosie about this, as I'm not on FB and maybe rosie can't pay for premium membership? I'm not sure how it works but will sign up for it if other FMs are able to reply to me who aren't.

Xochi

Great idea Xochi I will buy membership tomorrow. About time I coughed up   as this place has meant a lot to me.

I'll think of something intelligent to ask by tomorrow... I'd like to know particularly what a consultation should be like. I thought he should have asked questions + update my patient history as he hasn't seen me for a long while apart from my emails and videos pleading for her to be admitted. He shouldn't just steam ahead down the "recovery based approach" checklist should he?

anitdeps - tick - antipsychs- tick - CBT - tick. He's totally ignored that he's put me in danger. He's like a robot.

I want his ass quite frankly  as people are suffering from this NHS superficial box ticking approach, much  worse than me. Those poor Mid Staffs families. Lessons learned = crap.

I shall see you tomorrow hopefully. You're a star! Gosh lucky you have friends in high places eh?

FM

She's not in high places rosie, she's just in the right place!  When you're comfortable enough to tell me more I can tell her more. After all, Mr Hunt declared gagging clauses are off the agenda now!  I obviously have to ask her if she is ok to discuss this with me/you, yeah? She may also be on a gagging clause after all!  In the meantime think about exactly what you want to know.

Xochi

THanks Xochi. Its just general information for now.. I've looked at the RPsych site and saved a few pages already but I'm getting bogged down in all the stuff I've saved and "favourited". The local psych hospital has a shocking rep though - proper scandals -which is worrying as local MH nurses work there before moving to CPN community work and the doctors go to and fro. Obviously this is PM stuff. They said after the last Inspection report lessons would be learned. Same old.

I won't bother you too much  but its reassuring to know if I need anything I can't find online, I could always ask you.

Thanks Xochi and good night

Thanks everyone

FM

Aww really Xochi thank you

Yogi thank you thats sweet of you

I slept well thanks Xochi. I'll be fine now trust me  Its good to have a normal perspective as the videos are shocking but the CMHT shrug them off. You are decent, caring people - its lacking in the NHS sometimes.

I'll work on the excellent links here. I'm ashamed to say I have a legal training [LLB] degree but that was 18 yrs ago. I've forgotten all but the basics  I was a party girl it was basically a 4 year pub crawl round Dublin with some cramming for finals

Xochi don't ask your friend for now   but your genuine offer to put yourself out is amazingly kind, when I hardly know you.

I have a plan for today - and will check in later xx

Ta Fluffy. Really valuable discussion -  people in the same boat. Think they changed the law recently to so MH patients can't discriminated against any more + can request different doctors like the rest of the population.

Saved all these links on file and am going through them.

I'm fine for links - just gotta get on with reading + C+P ing info

You've all been great help

Thanks Sprout. I hadn't even thought of the local councillor just the MP. Would have written to him but the Mid Staffs families got no joy from theirs. Mine is New Labour + they started chasing foundation status etc + increased target culture  Googled how to find my local councillor which led to a brilliant site called writetothem.com. Result! thanks

Thanks for all these links - two heads are better than one and a forum is even better.

'CARE in the community' is the big dictat these  days, but care is quite clearly NOT what you are getting - 'fob them off with some pills and ignore the rest' is clearly not care, proper care. Alright. maybe you do need some pills/medication to help manage your own condition, but no way should you have to be so tanked full of pills that you 'manage' other people's conditions as well - as in becoming so drugged as to be rendered oblivious to the behaviour of others.

It sounds a bit to me as though this woman is non-compliant with her medication and that no-one much really cares about either of you.

Hope you can get something sorted before too much longer.

I got a plan  These normal human reactions have helped me so much...

Its the "normalisation of cruelty" across the NHS. When you read the heartbreaking stories of the recent victim's families and the NMC and GMC's turning a blind eye to uncaring staff its just horrifying

Machel was recently treated the same way too ... not even being able to get hold of a GP when she badly needed one. The GP used to call out all the time in the old days. Why didn't they send an ambulance out to her for such a badly deteriorating condition?

The good staff working in the middle of it have an impossible job too  when they're only rewarded for box ticking and could be disciplined for doing the right thing + caring.

FM

I'm not going to suggest that our Scottush NHS, or even just our local NHS is the epitomÃĐ of excellence, but what I see (as a ward clerkess in a Mental Health Unit) is miles better than what you are describing as your experience. It gets me so incensed!

Also have a word with you local Citizen's Advice Bureau if you can, they SHOULD be able to help you with  who and how to contact. You should be able to make an appointment with them for a home visit.

Aww Fluffs you've given me so much help. CAB is on my list... I have read some stuff thank you

I'm ok - will take my time and probably do a blog or something to compile everything in one place - videos etc. [ there are months worth of them and the worst ones, the police even say they're frightened watching them]. Find out what rights are being breached. There are various HR's bodies, Victim Support The National Stalking Helpline etc. Pengy once suggested it could be a disability hate crime also. The disturbed woman aggressively maintains she has no MH problem, and  is targetting me for complainining, saying I'm making false claims + can't be believed as I'm a mh patient [a reclusive agoraphobic ].

Have to be properly prepared + not rush into a complaint as it'll get a typical NHS PR guff response. The CMHT aren't really stressing me a.t.m. - theres no contact with them as the consultant's secretary hasn't phoned back after two calls. The area MH outpatient clinic didn't answer the phone until the third attempt today... literally rang off the hook. I googled to see if there was a strike on!

Glad its better in your area Fluffs and there are good people like you there even if you're in admin

When the Clinic finally answered I was told my lovely new young CPN -  I requested a new one after the other dishonest one - is off sick again. She's hardly been there the past month. Its got to be stress as I thought her nurse manager was frankly a bully - if she's bullying patients whats she doing to nurses. Someone here wrote that nursing is notorious for bullying down the ranks... the local hospital that got such a damning report suffers from staff constantly off sick. Its got to be stress from management above there too. Happy nurses love their job and don't go off sick in droves.

They can't even whistleblow cos they'll be disciplined or sacked without a decent reference. But I can

They are awful. I know  from past experience.

Aww Fluffs you're a kind soul. I'm allright. Now I got work to do, sites to read so don't worry any more *shooo*

Actually wanted this thread to cover all bad care experiences. if any FMs would like to contribute theirs, please?

Rosie/Roger   looks like you've got some very good advice here.  If you need help constructing letters to various people, I'm sure some of us would be able to help (with you adding any confidential bits yourself)

Out of curiosity - did you complain to your local Environmental health office as this would come under that remit for noise nuisance - if so you could use that as evidence of a persistent problem.  Also, were none of your other neighbours not affected by this noise and abuse?  Would they not act as witnesses for you about how abusive she was?

She needs help as she poses a danger to others and to herself

I'm very adamant that you should take action re her opening mail and threats to spread the information gained as Sproutalicious says, tampering with the mail is a criminal offence and she had enough 'sense' to steal the mail and make threats to you, which shows intent, so it couldn't be dismissed as an accidental opening.
