My last one started to do this, got a guy out and he said it was the bearings..... i ended up having to get a new (used) one as it would have cost too much to repair!

I had a feeling it would be something like that it's not even that old

The guy i found to look at it was a love bloke, didnt even charge for coming round and having a look. I cant remember his name though I'll keep trying to remember and let you know if i do.

Mine was doing that for ages .......I ignored it. It stopped turning on Christmas Eve . My sons friend has looked at it and ordered a 'start run capacitor (sp)' or something like that. I'm waiting for it to arrive. Sick of washing everywhere

I had to replace mine a couple of weeks ago, not as good as Machels but I can't complain paid £99 and it lasted 10 years.

It's a washing line or a clothes horse round here  

I also had a Candy washer and Candy  dryer both lasted around 8 years.

We always called it a  clothes horse.

My son went to Uni at Manchester and now calls it a 'Maiden' - always makes me laugh
