I need to find somewhere to eat at 5.30ish this eve, preferably around the Quayside area (going to concert 7.30,) and none of the places I know/like are open then. Been looking online and looks like my options are: Gusto; Big Mussel;Sage Brasserie, (ruled out Pitcher and Piano and the tapas place that I've forgotten the name of.) Anyone eaten in any of those places/ anyrecommendations? Going with someone who only eats veggie and fish, (not seafood,) so will need to cater reasonably for that. Thanks in advance

Big Mussel is nice, and the restaurant at the top of the Baltic is nice too, it's just changed it's name, I think it might be called 6 now. Where is the concert? Sage, Arena, City Hall?

Bob Trollops is a vegetarian pub on the Quayside.
There's a couple of ok italian places on the other side of the road...I cant remember the name (but I did fall down the stairs in one them )
There's Lloyds/Weatherspoons as well near the Swing Bridge that has food.

Maybe
She's already there innit. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality food in the Sage. Last time we ate in N/C was at a corner place on the other side about halfway between the blinking Eye and the Tyne Bridge.
However our fave choice is always South Shields. So many good ones all in the same road.

That fancy chippy in Shields is ace. The portions are ridiculous though, last time we went they gave me two thirds of my meal back to me in a plastic tub. I only had the fishcakes...I saw the size of the fish and it was like a whale. No way could I have managed that.
Big Mussel is gawjuss, but thats not much help now
Lecs, I must take B to that chippy sometime, he'd love it

Does anyone know if there is a German market at Sunderland btw. ?
Monday 23 Nov till Sunday 3rd Jan...and they are advertising a wonderful Victorian Carousel (which if it's anything like years will be a rickety tiny thing no one over 3 stone should ride on)

She was a bit disappointing as a personality/overall tbh Angel and she seemed to take a while to 'get going,' but some great bits and she does have an amazing voice. The band were fantastic 'though and the pizzas in Gusto were brilliant. Local lass Lesley Roley did support- she was great and sooooo cuteAdd Reply
