I like Roger Federer but I tend to root for the underdog so hope Soderling wins Laugh

Disappointed that my favourite Rafa is out this year Blush

Me too. I would liked to have seen a final between him and Roger. Both brilliant players but I do have to say that Robin Soderling has played superbly this year as well.

I always love a Roger v Rafa final - I'm hoping we get another Wimbledon final like last year Big Grin

Roger seems to have lost his concentration recently it would be nice to see him win again but I also like to see people win who haven't before Big Grin

Should be a good match.

I`m afraid I am one of those types who often like the underdog to do well.
But, on this occasion, a win for Federer would be a fantastic achievement, giving him a win in every grand slam and equalling Sampras`s record
Over the years he has given me so much pleasure and has always appeared to have a pleasing and courteous personality.
I feel it would be churlish of me not to be supporting him.
Full of anticipation. Enjoy it Hyacinth.

yup ill be watching. Tennis is what gets me through the month of no football. Unless like last year and next year, there's an international tournament.

Hope Federer wins. Think he deserves it after coming so close to the freak kid from Mallorca in recent years.

Thumbs Up

I still like Rafa as well though - would have liked a final between him and Roger but, heigh-ho, Robin deserves this chance.

No Swedish player will ever equal the gorgeous Stefan Edburg IMO.

Hyacinth, Edberg was also my favourite player in the 80s - I used to look forward to his matches with Boris Becker.

Stefan was also a charming, courteous player. Smiler

He now coaches, I believe.

Yes, I think he does and I think he still lives in Fulham with his wife. Wish I knew where, I'd stalk him.

Much preferred him over Bjorn Borg who always seemed so aloof and emotionless.

Besides, Stefan Edberg had the best thighs out of all the male players - IMO anyway. Blush

Yes, I agree. His matches against Boris were special. They both deserved a win for their playing skills.

Does he live in Fulham?

I presumed he'd returned to Sweden Big Grin

Federer certainly has the upper hand at the moment doesn't he?

Although all too often, a player can charge into the lead at the beginning and fall apart halfway through.

So funny in our house - my husband's in the other room watching the Turkish Grand Prix and I'm in another watching the tennis!!

Snap - I've let OH have the big telly downstairs and I'm up here on the wee one Laugh

Not a fan of the motor racing Shake Head

No, nor me Miss S.

I have the bigger TV which has Sky+ whilst hubby just has the smaller one.

If, like what happened the other week with the tennis and it goes over time, I can click the multiscreen button and still view it.

My goodness, Roger is certainly running away with the first set isn't he?

Multiscreen is a great invention isn't it? Laugh

Looks like this match will be over sooner rather than later which means I won't have to record the end and risk hearing the result Big Grin

Would like to see Robin come back at him though.

Just what I was thinking and what was the point anyway?

At least both players kept their cool.

I know it might be difficult to monitor but I thought there was tighter security now after the Monica Seles incident years ago.

They are professional enough to block it out I think.

Well, he appeared to be carrying a Spanish flag, and seeing as he went for Federer, I'd guess he was a Nadal fan....

No grace.

Ahh, thanks disley. From the distance shot, I couldn't make out what flag it was he was carrying.

Rather OT I know but was just wondering if anyone will be watching the Men's Final at Roland Garros at 2 o'clock today between Roger Federer of Switzerland and Robin Soderling of Sweden?

I like both men but secretly hoping Roger takes the crown!

One files tennis along with Rugby into the dustbin of sporting interest.
