If a match with Andy Murray at Wimbledon is played in the evening, the BBC will always show it on BBC1 in priority to all other television. They've done that for years and I think they did when Tim Henman was playing.

Programmes either get shown on a different channel, or later the same day, or a later date, or just get cancelled.

It's worth checking the Wimbledon order of play on a day when Andy Murray is playing. If it's the third match there's a greater possibility of being in the evening. If it's the first or second, much less likely unless there's a rain delay. If it looks as if it's likely to be in the evening then ignore the television schedules for BBC1 and 2 and catch up a programme on iplayer unless it's been cancelled.

Today's Andy Murray match is the second one so less chance of BBC1 evening schedule being affected,

The BBC stance on live sport events messing up their schedules does annoy people but they take the view that it's a live event over which they have no control and something like Wimbledon only takes place over 2 weeks each year.

If you want to make a complaint about their stance, you would need to make one to the BBC Trust:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/...ing_a_complaint.html

A complaint to OFCOM can't succeed as scheduling changes are outside their remit. They only deal with breaches of the broadcasting code. They also deal with fairness and privacy cases but only when the individual themselves makes a complaint, not a member of the public.

I took a 'comfort break', Roger and when I came back and saw your 'two sets all' comment I thought I'd entered the twilight zone!

I suppose this is not too great a surprise in reality as participation in sport in general is in decline.

I wonder what that says for our hopes for a future top tennis player or players?

Nearly eighty years since an Englishman won the men's singles at Wimbledon, but hope springs eternal, as they say
