I LOVE being snowed in Kaffs, my village is a popular spot for walkers, cyclists, people coming out for supper in a nice country pub etc. The atmosphere when everyone is 'in it together' and can neither get out or in is lovely

I love a white Christmas and love when it's snowy if I don't have to drive in it - year before last (i think it was) was horrendous started snowing mid November and didn't shift till February - deep and packed ice - so depressing by then.

Edit - your village sounds lovely

A quarter of an inch of snow and its brought the whole town and surrounding area to a standstill!!! Our council outsourced the highways department to a contractor earlier in the year. The one thing they were meant to excel at is gritting. MrD had been saying that the depot is rammed full of shiny new gritters, and tons and tons of grit and salt. No bloody good in the depot is it!

How come everyone rejoices when it snows? ... I bloody hate the stuff .... can't ride my bike to work. Dangerous underfoot, & if that wasn't bad enough, it then freezes over night ....  it's a bloody nightmare

I must be the only one who hates the white stuff

Roll on summer !!

Nah, you're not Angel. I hate it too. Looks good on a Christmas card

Britain is facing a weather front dubbed the "Beast from the East" next week - with heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures.

Temperatures could plummet as low as -6C around London as icy winds blow in over the eastern coast.

Forecasters are also predicting "lots of snow" from Monday - that could "obliterate" East Anglia and spread to southeastern areas.

I am ready - freezer and cupboards have been filled
