It takes all sorts I suppose.
In the last lot I was lucky enough to see France beat Spain in Hannover. At the Hamburg Fanzone our French pals cheered for England against Portugal (though to be fair the cheating so and sos were turtelly castigated by then) and we cheered for France against Brazil and then all the way through the competition.
I would like England, The Fatherland, France, Nederland, or Spain to win.
For me..... anyone but Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, USA, or South Africa.

For me my 'anyone but' list is (in no particular order) with reasons:
Portugal; Ronaldo, Mourinho, Nani and Carvalho - all people I despise
Argentina; Maradona - as above
Ivory Coast;  Drogba - as above
Nigeria - for many reasons.
Oh and Spain - they need taking down a peg or two. Fantastic to see our U17s kick their butts to win the Euros

Tis Ok, suzy.

But seriously I hate the English Media, England would do far better if they media didn't blow up their already huge egos!   Last night there was a great programme on BBC3 about the top world cup shockers with the usual suspects, but after every clip Richard Bacon, said 'Had it not been for this incident England would have probably won the world cup' one of those was the Ronaldo getting Rooney sent of incident.. England would have no more won the world cup that year than ourselves!

However, kudos to Peter Crouch, one of the most level headed footballers about, don't think anyone can dislike him, he was good craic on it and he is good craic on Chris Moyles Quiz show.

ould support Ireland once we're out as I have lots of Friends there, but we can't due to France!!!!!
Maybe, but it's also partly due to Ireland's players bottling it in front of goal, missing a hat full of chances that should have meant the handy goal was irrelevant. Ireland got what they deserved for missing all the sitters.

As for the ABE tshirts, weren't they trying to ban them at one point? As an English person and an England fan, I just thought they were hilarious. People should be allowed to wear what they want and support who they want! Afterall, people from Scotland, Wales etc don't have their home nations in the tournament so it at least gives them teams to cheer on.

I wouldn't exactly put it like that now Crunchy. Would you say England got what they deserved when Maradona famously hand passed the ball into the net?

Its quite gutting actually after seeing the group France got we could have had a real chance of getting to the 1/4 final stage...I suppose thems the breaks.

Eh no ... cheating is still cheating last time I looked. And yes for me this time round it's anybody but France
You could go into details of just about any football match then and say that the other team deserve.
What about the blatent penalty that France should have had in the same match that if awarded would have probably resulted in Shay Given being sent off for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity? In the laws of football, denying a clear goalscoring opportunity by fouling the opponent is seen to be just as bad if not worse than handballing. If the handball hadn't have happened and Ireland had have got through, would we all be saying Ireland cheated by getting away with a foul to deny France a goal?

Like I say, I've no sympathy what so ever to Ireland because they choked on at least 4 glorious opportunities to put the game to bed.  Oh and lets not forget, Ireland were never ahead in the tie, so weren't robbed of a place at all.
