i've just been reading about who got the warning and what was said. IF it's as reported...as in word for word i can't for the life of me see why a warning was given...a person saying they wouldn't date a black guy doesn't make them a racist in my book,it's a personal preference that's all.

Jemima Slade has been issued with an official warning from show bosses over a racism row.

Jemima clashed with Gina Rio in a discussion over guys.

“I go for darker looking, not black, but darker feature, Mediterranean. I wouldn’t generally go for a black guy,” Jemima said. “I like darker guys, but not black guys. Wouldn’t really go for Chinese. I like mixed race.”

She told Gina: “I wouldn’t generally go for a black guy…, I’ve gone out with Indian guys, I’d generally go out with someone in there 30s.”

Speaking later to the other housemates, Gina claimed she had “just experienced racism,” before going to re-ignite the chat with Jemima.

“I felt offended by what you said earlier, just the way you said I don’t like black men, it’s the way you said it, I didn’t like it and I felt a certain way and I felt very very offended and I can’t help the way I feel,” Gina told her.

Jemima explained: “I didn’t say I didn’t like black men, I’ve got loads of black friends. I wouldn’t go for a Chinese guy, generally that’s my taste, you probably wouldn’t go for a white guy.”

Gina pressed: “Why would you say that, how would you know that I haven’t been out with a white guy; just because I’m black why would you assume?”

Jemima however got defensive, saying: “You’re turning it into a racial thing, that’s why you’ve got an issue with it. You’re paranoid; you had a fight on the first night. I think you’re the most shallow and selfish person I’ve ever met.”

“I think you’re very jealous and insecure,” Gina hit back. “I always see you staring at me, giving me very funny looks and I do not appreciate.”

Jemima continued: “I don’t care how you’ve interpreted it, that’s not how it is, you are the most selfish, shallow, so not disrespect me.”

“Do not speak to me, we’ve ended here!” snapped Gina.

The row then continued into the garden, before Big Brother called Jemima into the Diary Room and issued her with a formal warning.

It sounded to me like Jemima was just saying what kind of guys she likes, nothing racist there...if I were a black or Chinese guy i'd be delighted to hear her say what she did...safe.

So she's gotta lie to be acceptable?

Not happy about Gina playing the race card, and yeah: it does smell like an attempt to portray Gina as a "victim" and keep her in when she's inevitably up this week...

I think the doozy comment is presuming Gina wouldn't date a white guy.

that racist warning was a load of ol trollocks. .

BB should have given her a warning for being unable to express what she means properly in English and been given more Eng lang homework..

Gina should have got a warning for lack of comprehension and likewise been given more Eng Lang homework too..

oh and possible help removing that chip off her shoulder as well...

I too am more often attracted to a darker skin/tanned [not tango'd]  guys  of   Latin or Mediterranean appearance. . I am put off by pure lily white skin especially when it's the type that goes red in the sun then peels.. I'm kinda olive skinned myself so I presume I am more often attracted to like than not.. .. I also like guys with longish hair too ... am not usually attracted to baldies.. or gingers either... I would have been given so many warnings if I'd had that 'what kind/type of guy attracts you' convo with Gina. . 

Except that Jemima made the "white man" comment after Gina started making the "racist" accusations.

That comment probably had a lot to do with BB's reaction (and particularly the warning), but it had nothing to do with Gina originally becoming upset...

Just catching up from last night and think she played right into her hands Cos, the 41 yr old () was stupid in her comments and Gina pounced on the opportunity to play the race card, she was completely isolated from the group and this will ensure that they'll now all walk on egg shells
