I am trying to generate a 'bell curve' type graph from the data... that shows where the bulk of the samples lie .. you should get something like 68% within one standard distribution and 96% within 2 if the data averages nicely about the mean value... still playing... that T test.. which can only be done on the cattle data because you need two sets of samples .. has Mr Tree (Hiya Mrs Tree) said what the value you get means?
Z.
lol i had forgotten about that
And what does Context and Bd mean?

I only have to do it with the cattle data...
Mr Tree said (I tihink) that the value showed there was no significant difference between the means....and something about a null hypothesis

Context is where it was found on the site....just the code for the particular area...
Bd is breadth of distal something (the book is in the other room)...it basically means the size of the bones (tibia)

All this Spreadsheet talk reminds me of how much I love using Microsoft Excel when doing IT work .

Evening darlo and Olly
Ok Olly.. engage brain... two sets of samples (bone length as it happens).. non-equal variances, two tail test. Ttest = 0.25 ... what does that mean exactly?
*looks for smoke*
