Showers or longer spells of rain for all areas today, often heavy with a risk of thunder. Some brighter spells in between the showers. Very windy with gales in places, especially over the exposed coasts of the south and west.

Tonight:

Some heavy showers will continue through this evening and overnight, especially over northern and western areas where some more prolonged rain is likely at times. Staying very windy.

Monday:

Not much change. Windy with further heavy showers at times and the threat of some more prolonged rain for a time across southernmost counties.

Some heavy and quite frequent showers over northern and western areas. Some more prolonged and quite heavy rain likely over southern areas for a time. Fewer showers in sheltered eastern areas and more widely later. Windy again, gales in places.

Tonight:

Scattered showers continuing in the west. Central and eastern areas mainly dry for a time with clearing skies. Thickening cloud and rain spreading back quickly northeastwards later in the night.

Tuesday:

Another windy day with further rain at times.The rain heavy and persistent in northern and western parts with occasional gales. Drier and brighter at times in the south and east.

Some eastern areas of England will have a largely dry and bright day, but scattered occasionally heavy showers will spread along English channel coasts, and across western parts of Britain and Northern Ireland. Very strong and gusty westerly winds.

Tonight:

Showers will continue overnight in western and southern areas, although some eastern areas will remain largely dry and clear. Strong westerly or southwesterly winds in the west.

Thursday:

A similar picture for Thursday with showers heavy in western and southern areas, with eastern parts of England drier and brighter. Windy.
