Rather wet across Northern Ireland and Scotland, but sunny across northeast Scotland. Mainly overcast across England and Wales with patchy fog in the east, though generally brightening-up later, especially in the south and west. Breezy in the west. Mild everywhere.

Tonight:

Mainly dry, mild and cloudy with hill fog patches. Damp across Northern Ireland and far west of Britain. Increasingly breezy towards the north and west.

Friday:

Wet and windy in the northwest. Mainly dry, mild and cloudy elsewhere, though some brightness around in the afternoon. The rain will then spread southeastwards during the evening and

Headline:

Rain and strong winds spreading slowly east.

Today:

Many places starting dry, with areas of low cloud slowly breaking. However rain, sometimes heavy, and strong winds already over Northern Ireland, will spread across Scotland and later Wales and western England. Elsewhere staying dry, becoming warm, with sunny spells.

Tonight:

A band of rain, often heavy, and strong winds initially across Scotland, Wales and western England will slowly spread east. Cloudy conditions with light rain and drizzle will follow. Mild.

Saturday:

Cloud and rain, the locally heavy across eastern England at first, will gradually move away eastwards. Brighter weather with showers will follow, the showers mainly for Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Hello swillers etc, etc..     Weather is changing quite a lot now eh Zaph... s'pose we have had it good though, for time of year..      Hope Shep has had a good time away in the van, we certainly did...  also made more so by the fact I bumped into a very good friend I havent seen for years... in a place never imagined i would do, so that was great..

November heralds the return of autumn

Big changes in the weather are predicted over the weekend with a spell of heavy rain and strong winds, with gales or severe gales expected in some areas, in stark contrast to the recent spell of settled weather. Rainfall totals up to 60mm are possible in some places and winds could gust to between 60 and 70mph.



Headline:

Rain at first in the east. Becoming brighter elsewhere.

Today:

Cloud and outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, across eastern England at first, will gradually move away eastwards. Brighter conditions elsewhere with some sunny spells will follow, with occasional showers likely over Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Tonight:

Some showers continuing across western Scotland, but dry elsewhere at first. However, heavy rain is expected to spread from the southwest across most parts later. Becoming windy in the southwest.

Sunday:

Heavy rain across most parts at first. Brighter, cooler conditions with sunny intervals and blustery showers following to all but eastern Scotland. Strong winds or gales over England and Wales.

well we now know that 3 nights away in the van when the dark nights are on with a 10 year old is a leetle too long...


if you've seen that episode of father ted when they're away in that caravan and father noel furlong turns up you'll know where i'm coming from.
we might even get a little telly for future dark night trips. it's not been and issue before because we've been outside till dark but ooh...i couldn't do this week again.

Hya Shep... we went to Pickering... we had some vouchers for the railway given to us ages ago, so had a nice long trip on a lovely steam train to Whitby... we found it weird this time when it was dark so early... luckily we had the tv, as we arnt ones to go out to pubs much... we had good books to read too..  May do one more trip before van gets put to bed over winter, depends on weather..  looking forward to next year to get full benefit and being able to sit outide the van of a night...

Remaining wet and very windy across Scotland and the far north of England, with clearer conditions elsewhere, although some showers are likely in the west and south.

Monday:

Rain clearing away from Scotland during the morning, with sunny intervals and scattered showers elsewhere, mainly in the west. Thickening cloud and some rain spreading to western parts later.

i love the moors railway, the ukcs is having a meet near pickering at the end of this month we thought it would be a good way to pick up tips off other campers but it would mean a very long and winding route over the moors for us and...well basically we're pretty unsociable anyway
after a few stints in bigger sites (not huge, about 10 vans) i think we'll stick to the 5 van sites from now on. we can still have the odd chat with the neighbours but have our own space.

Cloud and outbreaks of rain over western parts spreading east over all areas with some of the rain heavy at times, mainly in the north and west.

Tuesday:

Cloud and outbreaks of rain clearing away eastwards, followed by sunny intervals and blustery showers. Some of the showers are likely to be heavy at times. Windy in most places.

Most places starting cloudy with outbreaks of rain. However, brighter weather, already across western areas spreading eastwards, but still with blustery showers. Further heavy rain may affect the far south for a time. Feeling chilly in brisk southwesterly winds.

Tonight:

Showers continuing near western coasts, these locally heavy. Most central and eastern areas becoming dry with clear spells, local frost and fog in the north as winds ease here.

Wednesday:

Sunny spells and scattered showers, most of these in the west where some will be heavy, though some eastern areas should remain dry. Rather cool, and in the southwest, windy.

Today:

Scattered showers will affect many parts of the UK today, these heaviest and most frequent in western areas this morning where they may be occasionally prolonged with possible thunder. Showers extending eastwards through the afternoon. Strong westerly winds in southwest.

Tonight:

Showers will die away from eastern areas, but continue over western coasts and hills. Brisk northwesterly winds in the west, lighter further east.

Thursday:

Largely dry and bright in the east at first. Cloud and rain will spread eastwards through the day. Brighter with scattered showers in western areas, showers persistent over southwest Scotland.
